**Stores Assistant**:

Job Purpose

The Stores Assistant is responsible for the accurate recording of all goods in and out of the hotel with total ownership of the loading bay area including the security and tidiness of the work area.

Functional/Technical Skills (What you need to be able to do)

Customer Service

Receiving
ï‚- All goods to be delivered to receiving area and are received by a member of the stores team. As far as possible time slots need to be agreed with suppliers and the Head Chef, so that delivery is carried out within the stores opening hours.
ï‚- Good received are checked against a delivery note and purchase order, whilst a delivery person is still on the premises.
ï‚- Goods received are checked against a delivery note and purchase order in Adaco
ï‚- Store all goods in appropriate areas, adhering to strict stock rotation (first in / first out).
ï‚- All deliveries received for non-food departments are to be taken promptly to the relevant head of department.
ï‚- Maintain a record of all non-food deliveries and returns to enable them to be traced at any time.

Product Quality and Operations
ï‚- Prepare daily requisitions for kitchen, food and beverage and any other items as required.
ï‚- Carry out a visual check of commodities for quality/freshness and packaging:

- Check use by dates and record accordingly
- Check temperatures and record accordingly
- Carry out random weight checks on a regular basis and report any discrepancies
ï‚- Advise senior chef of any food items that are very near or past the use by date
ï‚- Information is passed to line managers in the event of any stock / delivery issues
ï‚- Date codes in fridges to be checked daily and weekly for dry goods in order to avoid any potential losses.
ï‚- All food items received should be stored in their relevant areas as agreed with the Head Chef & F&B manager as soon as practicably possible.
ï‚- Assist with monthly / weekly inventory counts

Processes & Procedures
ï‚- All storage areas to be kept in a tidy, organised and in a hygienic condition at all times
ï‚- Follow all recording processes and procedures required by relevant food safety regulations.
ï‚- Loading bay to be kept clear of delivery trays, and cardboard packaging to be recycled in the compactor.
ï‚- Ensure that stores department adhere to all relevant finance policies in receiving and issuing of goods as well as inventory control.
ï‚- All food invoices / delivery notes to be sent daily to Head Chef for approval and all other invoices to be sent daily to Accounts Payable.
ï‚- All issues from stores for beverage are to be on store requisition forms
