**Job Purpose**:To maintain all domestic duties throughout the Home at the highest standard on a daily basis.**

**Statement of Purpose/Philosophy of Care**:
**At Chilton Croft Nursing Home we place our Residents at the forefront**.

**General duties**:

- Understand and operate to national and local standards and the Home’s policies and procedures when proving domestic services at Chilton Croft Nursing Home;
- Launder, iron and tidy all residents’ clothes and linen as required;
- Dust, vacuum and clean all residents’ rooms;
- Empty all bins throughout the Home and replace bin liners;
- Mop all the vinyl areas in the Home;
- Mop all shower rooms;
- Clean all the sinks and toilets;
- Ensure paper towel dispensers are stocked properly;
- Check all dispensers(soap or sanitiser) and replace if necessary;
- Make sure all chairs/armchairs are clean;
- Check and make sure all wardrobes and drawers are clean and tidy;
- Clean all beds and bed frames following the rota in the _Housekeeping Audit_ folder;
- Clean all mattresses following the weekly rota( unzip cover and wash if necessary)
- Check, clean and tidy all lounges, dining areas, stairways and cupboards daily;
- Check, clean and tidy all linen cupboards on a weekly basis;
- Respect the residents’ privacy and dignity by knocking on the door upon entering their room. Remember to always seek permission;
- Ensure dignity of individual residents is maintained by the correct allocation of laundry and personal hygiene aids;
**Training and development**
- Attend all supervisions and staff meetings organised by the Home;
- Undertake QCF training as required;
- Attend all trainings organized by the Home; When training is advertised, you are expected to attend; Non-attendance to mandatory trainings will impact on the employer’s ability to retain you in employment.
- Adopt a clean and tidy appearance wearing the uniform supplied by the Home;
**Integrity**
- Maintain accurate records of all the cleaning tasks done throughout the Home;
- Work collaboratively with all members of staff;
- Check the duty roster and follow allocations at all times;
- Notify the Home (by ringing 01787 374146) about any instances when you are not able to report for duty. Where this is possible, cancellations should be made at least 24-48 hours in advance.

**Health and Safety**
- Contribute to effective and efficient use of resources including safe use, checking and maintenance of equipment;
- Ensure all emergencies, incidents, accidents and complaints are responded to and reported in accordance with the Home's policies and procedures;
- Keep up-to-date with the Home's development and changes;
- Promote and ensure the good reputation of the Home at all times;
- Comply proactively with your duties and follow the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 as detailed in the Health and Safety policy of the Home.
- Strictly adhere to the following policies: COSHH, Infection Control, Manual Handling, Health and Safety and Abuse of Vulnerable Adults, reporting any anomalies from these policies to the management;
- Undertake reasonable extra responsibilities as required;
**Confidentiality**
- **In the course of your duties, you will have access to confidential material about the residents, staff and the Home. You must not divulge any personal/confidential information via telephone or any other forms of electronic devices/social media. Breach of confidentiality will be taken seriously by the Home management.**

- Assist the head chef with day to day kitchen duties;
- Check the quantity and quality of all products purchased making sure that they are all in date;
- Check stock and supply as required;
- Direct the preparation of all food produce ensuring high standards are met and maintained;
- Supervise and coordinate staff engaged in food preparation if required to do so;
- Plan menus involving residents and families or other staff members if needed;
- Check and continuously monitor all food produce cooked or uncooked;
- Ensure that food hygiene regulations are respected by all staff preparing/handling food. Report any abnormality to the head chef/management;
- Guide and instruct new/junior catering staff in guiding techniques and relevant policies;
