**About the role and our team**

Join our team as a Health and Safety Inspector within the Department of Environment, Food & Agriculture

The primary aim of the Health and Safety at Work Inspectorate (HSWI) is to contribute to the reduction of health and safety risks arising from work activities. This is achieved by HSWI inspectors promoting and securing compliance with occupational health and safety legislative standards through the provision of advice, education, inspections and investigations as well as through taking enforcement action.

You will be working as part of a small team of one Senior Inspector and two Inspectors, in partnership with Officers from other units within the Directorate, other Government Departments and key stakeholders.

We’re also looking for someone who has significant experience across a wide range of industrial, commercial and Government sectors as well as considerable experience in a Health and Safety role.

**Additional information**

Please note a basic police check is required for this post,** **which the Department will cover the cost of for you. Please note if you have lived for more than 6 months outside of the UK in the last 5 years, you will be required to obtain a Letter of Good Standing from the appropriate authorities in the relevant locations, please read the guidance about how to obtain this letter.

A full valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle is required for this role.

A relocation package and interview expenses are not available for this role.
