**About The Role**:
Hybrid role - 2 days a week in the office, 3 days a week at home.

**Overall Job Purpose**

The purpose of the team is to provide a balanced interpretation of how FCA regulations and ASA rules affect our strategy and propositions and to help the Adviser and Consumer Marketing teams deliver on their purposes and meet our customer's needs.

Sitting within the Second Line Compliance Team the Marketing Compliance function has second line of defence responsibility and are responsible for approving all marketing material and communications, making sure that any marketing assets are signed off, adhere to TCF principles and to the brand guidelines and tone of voice. It involves ensuring marketing and communications are compliant with FCA and ASA rules and guidance, as well as our own internal guidelines while still being innovative and effective. It is a challenge that requires an ability to foresee problems, seeking out original solutions, being able to provide constructive feedback and having great attention to detail.

In addition to the sign off of all marketing material and communications, each manager is responsible for providing input into the Marketing conduct risk report and for providing training to the wider business.

Finally, the Marketing Compliance function is responsible for brand and reputation monitoring. A third party completes the monitoring activity whilst the Marketing Compliance function analyses the information and ensures appropriate action is taken to resolve any breaches.

**Responsibilities**
- **_Final sign off and guidance throughout the asset sign off process _**_- as the key final sign off Marketing Compliance will ensure all items adhere to TCF principles, Consumer Duty, brand guidelines and tone of voice as well as FCA (and other pertinent bodies such as the ASA) rules and regulations. _
- **_Production of the financial promotions training module and VAM user guide_**
- **_New starter inductions - _**_taking new starters through the sign off process and the VAM system_
- **_Reporting and Governance _**_- including input to the quarterly Conduct Risk committee report, regular reporting for managers on expiring items, marketing breaches_
- **_Brand and reputation monitoring - _**_monitoring the web and third party sites to check for misuse of our brand. Appropriate escalation and action to stop brand mis-use such as cease and desist letters and potentially including legal action_

**Skills Required**:
Essential
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of the financial services industry and the regulatory framework
- Expert knowledge of the FCA financial promotions rules with a focus on delivering good client outcomes
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to explain technical regulatory concepts to a wide variety of audiences
- Ability to build long term relationships with key stakeholders at all levels within the business
- Ability to prioritise and a strong focus on delivery, both individually and through others
- Proven track record of working in a financial promotions Compliance role
- Good level of product knowledge in their chosen field (or multiple fields) as appropriate for the role e.g. Health insurance, Life insurance, and Investments/Pensions
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good judgement and decision making
- Being able to understand complex rules (the letter of the rules)
- Working to tight deadlines
- Strong negotiator and influencer
- Ability to relate to colleagues and challenge constructively
- Commercial awareness

Desirable
- CII Diploma in Financial Planning
- CII R01 (or be prepared to study to achieve it) (Invest roles)
