**Job brief**

Hours-18.5 hours per week (Fixed term until 30th June 2025)

Salary-£25,000 per annum (pro rata)

**Key Tasks**
- Co-ordinate and deliver monthly drop-in sessions to families across the Gateshead area in identified Family Hub venues.
- Provide an element of bespoke support for families whose child is autistic, whether diagnosed or not.
- Develop and facilitate support group, both virtually and face to face to families who require support, advice and guidance relating to their child.
- Provide a warm, welcoming, inclusive and safe environment for parents and carers to build relationships with both professionals and other parents/carers, to ensure effective support, share information and strategies, and reduce isolation.
- Take a lead role in the safeguarding of children and young people ensuring that best practice is adhered to at all times and that safeguarding policies and procedures are followed.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with relevant organisations and professionals to ensure the local provision meets the needs of the families and that you have a current knowledge of all services and support networks in the locality for referral and signposting.
- Provide line management, mentorship, coaching and support to any additional staff and volunteers working within the service, in accordance with Daisy Chains management structure.
- Work closely with the Senior Services Manager to continuously upskill and develop staff and volunteers, and ensure a high standard of service is maintained at all times.
- Review and ensure case work and records are of high quality and up-to date within the service, and complete reports and case studies as required.
- Work with the Senior Services Manager to ensure the service is on track to reach targets and provide effective data for reporting and monitoring purposes.
- Ensure you maintain a broad and up to date knowledge of developments in neurodevelopmental disorders, including effective strategies, resources, techniques and research.
- Build and maintain trusting relationships with families in order to identify the key issues which are relevant to them, and ensure the service is meeting these needs.
- Ensure the voice of the neurodivergent community and their families are heard and play an active role in reviewing and evaluating the service.

- Comply with the Charities Health and Safety policy in all employment practices
- Maintain the integrity of the Daisy Chain brand in all internal and external communications
- Maintain a proactive approach to your role and responsibilities along with a commitment to contribute and maintain the positive working ethos within the Charity
- Maintain working knowledge of the policies and regulations governing the Charity
- Ensure attendance at staff meetings as required
- Undertake any training and development deemed necessary for the pursuance of the post
- Work in a way that contributes to the continuous improvement of the Charitys services and embraces the organisations quality initiatives
- Any other duties from time to time, commensurate with the level of the post

**Person Specification**

**Experience**
- Experience of delivering support services for families, children & young people with autism and Neurodevelopmental differences E, A&I
- Experience of working flexibly and advising on a range of bespoke support strategies to meet the needs of diverse individuals. E, A&I
- Training & experience as a Designated Safeguarding Officer, or significant safeguarding experience E, A&T
- Experience of working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other Neurodevelopmental differences E, A&I
- Experience of multi-agency working E, A
- Experience of managing challenging situations and an ability to remain calm, objective and proactive when faced with complex cases, including safeguarding E, A&I
- Experience of providing mentorship and coaching to others within a work place environment D, A
- Experience of managing project targets D, A

**Qualifications**
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in a relevant field (e.g. autism, psychology, education, health & social care)
