Hours-18.5 hours per week (Fixed Term until 30th June 2025)

Salary-£25,000 per annum (pro rata)

**Key Tasks**
- Deliver monthly drop-in sessions to families across the Gateshead area in identified Family Hub venues.
- Provide an element of bespoke support for families whose child is autistic, whether diagnosed or not.
- Facilitate support groups, both virtually and face to face to families who require support, advice and guidance relating to their child.
- Provide a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment for parents and carers to build relationships with both professionals and other parents/carers, to ensure effective support, share information and strategies, and reduce isolation.
- Always contribute towards the protection of children and young people and ensure Daisy Chain safeguarding policies are followed.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with relevant organisations and professionals to ensure the local provision meets the needs of the families and that you have a current knowledge of all services and support networks in the locality for referral and signposting.
- Provide support to any volunteers working within the service, in accordance with Daisy Chains policies.
- Ensure records are of high quality and up-to date within the service, and complete reports and case studies as required.
- Work with the Senior Services Manager to ensure the service is on track to reach targets and provide effective data for reporting and monitoring purposes.
- Ensure you maintain a broad and up to date knowledge of developments in neurodevelopmental disorders, including effective strategies, resources, techniques and research.
- Build and maintain trusting relationships with families in order to identify the key issues which are relevant to them, and ensure the service is meeting these needs.
- Ensure the voice of the neurodivergent community and their families are heard and play an active role in reviewing and evaluating the service.

- Ability to travel within then community to provide planned services.

**Person Specification**

**Experience**
- Experience of delivering support services for families, children & young people with autism and Neurodevelopmental differences E, A&I
- Experience of working flexibly and advising on a range of support strategies to meet the needs of diverse individuals. E, A&I
- Experience of safeguarding vulnerable children and young peoples E, A&T
- Experience of multi-agency working E, A
- Experience of providing mentorship and coaching to others within a workplace environment D, A
- Experience of managing project targets D, A

**Qualifications**
- Level 3 qualification in a relevant field (e.g. autism, education, health & social care) **OR** equivalent experience E, A
- Trained to the level of Designated Safeguarding officer (or willing to work towards) E, A

**Knowledge & Skills**
- Ability to communicate effectively in sensitive and complex cases with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and with varying needs. E, A&I
- An ability to remain calm, objective and proactive when faced with complex cases, including safeguarding E, A&I
- A thorough understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with neurodevelopmental differences E, I
