An exciting opportunity has arisen at the BRUSH Group for a Commercial Operations Director.

Based at one of our sites in either Loughborough or Blackwood - South Wales, the Commercial Operations Director will be responsible for the implementation of a consistent tendering process across the business for solutions, products and services. The rolewill also be instrumental in identifying, designing, and implementing common commercial tools and systems.

Through partnering with the sales, operational, finance, and legal teams the post holder will be accountable for the commercial operations performance.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Develop and implement a Commercial Operations organisational profile and identity
- Lead the tendering and customer success teams
- Enhancecommercial processes, tools and policies to enable consistent and efficient pre-tender, tender, customer negotiation and internal hand-over tooperations & project management teams.
- In close collaboration with the sales team and other teams, lead and manage all tender activities (deal structure, cost roll-up, pricing, terms & conditions negotiation, and external / internal requirements)
- Manage and prioritise the opportunity / tendering pipeline
- Coordinate tendering inputs / outputs with the various internal support functions
- Ensure that risk / governance processes are documented and followed
- Supervise tendering activities whilst providing hands-on support for critical & complex opportunities
- Lead ‘capture teams’ for strategic opportunities (such as frameworks or complex / cross-business opportunities)
- Drive / support strategic cross-function initiatives
- Manage the pre-qualification documentation database, lead the orders forecasting, drive commercial efficiencies initiatives, and support external and internal quality audits
- Establish strategic growth initiatives to drive sustainable, profitable growth and optimise the business performance
- Manage, coach and grow the tendering teams
- Build and improve commercial templates
- Define and implement business intelligence (with an initial focus on pricing, installed base and CRM specification)
- Maintain and enhance the internal opportunity tracking and analytics (CSF)
- Develop customer, market and business performance criteria
- Identify and implement commercial operations tools

**Person Specification**

**Qualifications**:

- Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering

**Skills / Knowledge:
- Strong influencer with collaborative skills and ability to build effective relationships
- Ability to translate business strategies into commercial actions
- Financial acumen
- In-depth experience in RFQs preparation and responses
- Product knowledge/experience of switchgear, transformer and associated equipment
- Specific knowledge and experience relating to power transmission / distribution design and associated power network architecture
- Knowledge of DNO / IDNO recommendations rules & regulations
- Strong communication skills required - Minimum fluent in English
- High degree if technical competence within the sector

**Experience:
- Relevant experience in sales, management or operations within the energy management landscape
- Experience in direct customer facing roles
- Working knowledge of the energy management landscape
- Solution selling experience
- Experience in setting commercial strategies in a complex opportunity landscape
- Hands-on experience in developing technical, commercial (including pricing) and terms & conditions negotiations
- Proven experience in technical and commercial customer presentation / workshops (solutions, products and services focused

**Desirable**
- Field Sales, Field Engineering or Engineering experience
