**Job Summary**

The purpose of this role is to ensure the timely and efficient production and delivery of our fabric craft kits. The working hours are full-time (37.5 hours per week) and typically five days per week Monday to Friday. Some flexibility on hours worked can be considered, for example four longer days, or a nine-day fortnight, provided the core duties of the job can be completed and the production schedule maintained.

The place of work is Darkes Barn, Conderton, GL20 7PP.

**Typical Responsibilities**

Coordinating the bulk manual production of craft kits, for specific wholesale orders and to re-stock retail or trade stocks in advance of anticipated sales.

Managing your own workflow and tasking and coordinating colleagues to support the production process, with an awareness of the wider design/production/delivery process flow.

Estimating and agreeing the production schedule and critical path, in line with the business’s priorities and customer’s requirements.

Liaising with business customers and internal customers to agree production and delivery timeframes on their kits orders.

Calculating quantities of fabrics and notions necessary to produce orders, and ordering certain components as needed.

Cutting fabrics and other materials using scissors, electric rotary cutters and a laser cutting machine; pressing fabrics when needed.

Selecting fabrics for use in craft kits, according to agreed aesthetic criteria.

Printing patterns, kit instructions and packaging components, to scale and on specific paper stock.

Arranging and packing individual products to certain standards so that they are suitably presented for onward sale, and securely packing goods in boxes.

Liaising with courier companies and customers’ warehousing facilities to schedule and book order collections.

Maintaining company records to show order receipt, progress, invoicing, dispatch, and stock control; recording the processes and production timings of making new products.

Suggesting and implementing improvements to efficiency, working with others to improve workflows across the business.

Identifying and resolving problems in the manufacturing process, with minimum supervision.

Other tasks as delegated by management, commensurate with the skills, training and level of responsibility of the role, such as (List is not exhaustive):

- Search for alternative packaging options which meet our needs
- Order and receipt office consumables
- Oversee compliance with H&S and Fire Safety standards for the areas where you work
- Support the stock count process
- Participation in development/teamwork meetings

**Person criteria**

**Essential**
- A very neat, tidy and organised approach to your workspace.
- Always “aiming for amazing”, whilst being aware of the constraints of working in a small business.
- Able to lift and move heavy bolts of fabric, climb stairs and stepladders, and be on your feet for extended periods of time.
- Proven ability to work independently, quickly and accurately in a production environment.
- A minimum of five GCSEs grade A-C (or equivalent), including Maths and English.
- Good working knowledge of MS Excel, Outlook, Teams and shared folder structures.
- Unphased by repetitive manual processing tasks.
- Excellent time management and teamwork-coordination skills.
- Ability to deal with setbacks calmly and resourcefully.

**Desirable**
- Experience working with production management tools to coordinate manufacturing resources.
- A demonstrable creative sense in terms of colour
- and pattern matching of different materials.
- Experience working with fabrics, e.g. quilting, soft furnishings or dressmaking.

**Pay and Benefits**
- Approx. £26,000 full time salary per annum.
- 25 days’ Annual Leave per annum plus UK bank holidays, pro rata to hours worked. There is a reasonable limit to how much leave that can be taken during school holidays.
