About The Mare and Foal Sanctuary

The Mare and Foal Sanctuary is the largest equine welfare charity in the South West peninsula dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of horses and ponies who have suffered neglect, abuse and trauma. We also deliver a range of Equine Assisted Services with our rescued horses and ponies. The Mare and Foal Sanctuary has five sites across Devon, a clear five-year strategy and is ambitious for the future.

About the role

This is a hybrid role with a nominated base at Olympus Business Park and core hours of 37.5 per week.

**What you will be doing**:
Unleash your Creativity

You’ll be at the forefront of a mission to tell impactful stories about our charity, finding opportunities across our organisation to create powerful and captivating content. As a driving force behind our narratives, you’ll collaborate across departments to share our latest news through meticulous research, interviews and visually engaging content. Your role will involve crafting immersive case studies that skilfully blend words, photos, and films to provide an insight into the lives of our rescued horses and the remarkable individuals and groups we collaborate with. Tailoring your creativity for diverse audiences, you’ll be writing persuasive press releases, website articles, social media posts, case studies and campaign content. You’ll produce professional in-house films and images, while also overseeing external commissions. And when the spotlight calls, you’ll be a presenter and key spokesperson to share our work and mission.

Organise and Optimise

You’ll be a curator of our digital storytelling assets, ensuring content library files are organised effectively and accessible to key staff. With a keen eye for detail, you’ll manage media consent forms, ensuring our stories respect the people at their heart. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our charity’s distinctive tone of voice, ensuring that our communications resonate deeply with the charity’s values and brand identity. Your analytical skills will be required to evaluate and report on the success of our stories and campaigns, providing vital insights to shape the future of our productions. Your expertise will shine as you craft tailor-made content that ensures our message reaches far and wide.

**What you will bring**:
You’ll need a relevant qualification in media, journalism, communications, or marketing, backed by a minimum of two years’ experience.

You’re a skilled storyteller who can engage audiences with compelling narratives. You will have exceptional copywriting and journalism skills and the ability to adapt your style across media platforms, channels and diverse audiences. You have an eye for detail and experience in proofreading and editing the work of others.

Highly skilled in videography techniques, you will also have a strong knowledge of post-production, including linear editing and audio grading. Photography expertise is desirable along with experience of aerial filming using a drone.

You’re on the cutting edge of the digital age, familiar with digital trends, SEO, and social media. Pressure fuels your drive to manage priorities and deliver results quickly and your adaptability makes you a perfect fit for our fast-paced environment.

You have strong IT skills and mastery of creative software and equipment. Analytical by nature, you make impactful data-driven decisions.

You excel in teamwork, fostering positive relationships with colleagues. Your cultural awareness, empathy, and diplomacy shine through in all you do.

You will have a valid driver’s license and be open to travelling to various locations regularly.
