As a research coordinator, you will be responsible for fulfilling the administrative and logístical needs of the RNOH Implant Science Centre to help ensure the successful running of research projects. You will also be actively engaged involved in research tasks for various projects. This is a Band 5 post based at the Stanmore site, for one day/week (7.5 hours)

Responsible for the safe transfer of retrieved explants from collaborating hospitals, together with clinical/medical imaging data. Ensuring explants are decontaminated upon receipt and that medical imaging data is segmented for further analysis. To maintain a close working relationship with collaborating surgeons, radiologists, scientists and other academics in order to ensure the successful running of research projects.

We are a multidisciplinary team including orthopaedic surgeons, engineers, biotechnologists, radiologists and computer scientists. We work together to provider better informed diagnosis, care and patient monitoring through the study of health and disease, implant performance, surgical planning and the development of innovative technologies in orthopaedics.

Key Main Duties Include (Full description in the separate job description).

1. To manage the transfer of retrieved implants to the RNOH. To assist in optimising the workflow protocols to ensure retrieved implants are received safely and in a timely manner.

2. To be responsible for the safe keeping/security of retrieval kits that are sent and received at the centre.

3. To be responsible for the decontamination and logging of explants received.

4. To liaise with clinical staff within the RNOH and other hospitals to ensure the appropriate imaging is made available. This will require establishing a good working relationship with clinicians within and outside of the RNOH.

5. To perform computational segmentation analysis of the different imaging modalities captured.
