Job Summary
This post carries teaching and supervision responsibilities for the undergraduate programmes in theology, music and
worship, with a particular focus on the recently revalidated BA in Theology and Creative Musicianship. Teaching areas
include musicianship skills, creative musicianship, aural awareness, improvisation, keyboard and ensemble skills.
Key Tasks
The following key tasks are indicative of the role, rather than exhaustive, and tasks may be amended in response to
changing requirements or in line with the skills and experience of the post-holder:
- On-campus teaching and module leadership in practical and creative musicianship, including aural awareness,
improvisation, keyboard skills and ensemble skills.
- Efficient management of the VLE areas for all modules taught.
- Supervising level 6 projects, especially those with a practical music focus.
- First marking of modules taught and second marking of agreed modules.
- Pastoral care of students.
- Interviewing and auditioning prospective students.
- Attendance and active participation in music and worship department meetings, wider faculty meetings and training
days.
- Attendance and active participation at the Academic Board, Programme Boards of Study and other School
committees as required.
- Supporting and being involved in leading LST chapel events, Music and Worship Programme events, Open Days,
Summer School, external conferences, concerts and evening lectures.
- Attendance at School events such as Graduation Day and the Laing Lecture.
- Full participation in chapel and community prayer groups.
- Any other reasonable duties as required by the Theology, Music and Worship Programme Leader.

Terms of Employment:
**Salary**: £39,338 per annum (1.0 FTE) (£23,603 per annum for 0.6 FTE).
Hours: 35 hours per week (1.0 FTE) (21 hours per week for 0.6 FTE). The usual working day is 9.00 am to
5.00 pm although some evening and weekend working may be required.
Holidays: 27 days per annum plus public holidays for 1.0 FTE role and pro-rata accordingly.
LST is closed between Christmas and the New Year and this is given as additional leave.
