**This is a fixed term appointment until 31 July 2023, with possibility to extend dependent on funding.**

The Widening Participation team, based in the Academic Registrar’s Division, leads our efforts to widen access to LSE for UK Undergraduate students from under-represented groups and supports the attainment and progression to HE for hundreds of young people each year. The team, comprising 13 staff, leads on the delivery of key elements of the School’s outreach and widening access strategy, as set out in our Access and Participation Plan.

The Widening Participation Coordinator (Pathways Programmes) is responsible for the coordination of LSE’s Pathways to Law and Pathways to Banking and Finance programmes alongside the rest of the Pathways team. The post holder will contribute to the design, development and delivery of a long-term programme of events including taster lectures and workshops, off-site visits, residential conferences and a mentoring programme. The post holder will also recruit, train and supervise students and academic staff and liaise with schools and colleges to recruit participants to the programmes.
- General knowledge of UK education and widening participation issues
- Experience of working with children and/or young people in an educational environment
- Experience of organising events
- Experience of supporting with the design and development of projects or events
- Experience of liaising with key internal and external stakeholders who support the projects such as academics, funders and companies
- Ability to understand and convey information in a clear and accurate manner
