We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and friendly Sleep Physiology Associate Practitioner to join our busy and expanding Paediatric Sleep Service. The Sleep service provides a wide range of sleep diagnostic studies in children of all ages. We perform and analyse standard and complex studies including oximetry studies, transcutaneous carbon dioxide monitoring, actigraphy, cardiorespiratory polygraphy, full polysomnography and multiple sleep latency tests (MSLTs). We provide specialist interpretation of the home and inpatient sleep study results for the sleep and respiratory clinicians.

You will possess exemplary communication and organisational skills, and have the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team. You will perform sleep physiological measurements on children admitted to the Sleep House to provide the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders, and you will support the qualified Sleep Physiologists in the setting up and recording of overnight sleep studies.

Comprehensive training and support will be provided. You will be expected to liaise closely with medical staff, nursing staff and other allied health professionals, as well as children and their families. You will also download and upload sleep study results to the online hospital systems, be involved with equipment and stock maintenance and general housekeeping along with other members of the team.

This position is for night shifts, primarily working Sunday, Monday & Tuesday.

To perform sleep physiological measurements on children admitted to the Sleep House in order to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of paediatric sleep disorders. To support the qualified Sleep Physiologists in setting up and recording overnight sleep disorders. To independently setup Cardiorespiratory Polysomnography studies, oximetry studies and transcutaneous carbon dioxide studies. To monitor live overnight studies, responding to any abnormalities or technical issues

- To independently set up Oximetry and Transcutaneous carbon dioxide studies and respond to any technical issues with the study and problem solve so as to get high quality recordings, both on the Sleep Unit and on the Ward
- To work under supervision of the qualified Physiologist to set up more complex studies such as Cardio-respiratory Polysomnography
- To assist the qualified Physiologist to set up more complex studies such as Full Polysomnography
- To observe studies in real time, respond to clinical changes and to correct technical issues that may occur during the study
- Downloading of basic overnight ward studies, artefact rejection and upload of ward studies to the electronic patient system, under the guidance of the physiologist
