Are you a passionate and experienced Special Needs Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity to work with post-16 students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? AK Teaching, a leading education recruitment agency, is currently seeking dedicated individuals to join a prestigious Post-16 SEND school in Newcastle.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide specialized support to post-16 students with SEND, tailoring assistance to individual needs.
- Collaborate with the teaching team to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Demonstrate strong behaviour management skills, particularly in dealing with ASD, ADHD, and SEMH behaviours.
- Work closely with teaching staff to assess, monitor, and report on student progress.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting social, emotional, and academic development.
- Collaborate with other professionals, parents, and external agencies to ensure a comprehensive approach to student support.

**Requirements**:

- Prior experience working with post-16 learners with SEND.
- Strong behaviour management skills, with specific experience in handling ASD, ADHD, and SEMH behaviours.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting the individual needs of students.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
- Relevant qualifications in special education or a related field are advantageous.
