**Role**: Forensic Mental Health Support worker

**Pay Rate**:£14 Per Hour

**Shifts**: Days & Nights available

Full-time & part-time opportunities

**Duties Include**:
Providing support to people with a mental disorder who are currently undergoing, or have previously undergone legal or court proceedings.

Supporting people with disabilities, including individuals with profound and complex needs, using person-centred approaches to enable people to achieve positive outcomes as defined in their support plan.

To play a critical role in the rehabilitation and support of individuals who have engaged with the criminal justice system and have mental health needs.

Develop and maintain supportive relationships with people we support, promoting their wellbeing and rehabilitation in line with their care plan, PBS report and any other bespoke interventions that that are implemented to support with development, independence, and safety.

To drive and promote activities, assisting PWS to support with hobbies and daily fulfilment.

Assist in developing daily living skills, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household chores.

Support with attending appointments, such as medical, legal, or therapeutic sessions.

To work in Collaboration with clinical teams to conduct risk assessments and develop risk management plans.

Monitor and report any changes in behaviour to relevant care teams, and PBS point of contact.

Implement strategies to de-escalate challenging situations and ensure the safety of the PWS and staff.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of the PWS progress, interventions, and outcomes.

Coordinate with external agencies, such as probation services and housing authorities, to facilitate reintegration into the community.

Advocate the needs and rights within the criminal justice system and other relevant institutions.

Respond promptly to crises or emergencies involving PWS, following established protocols and procedures.

Provide emotional support and reassurance during periods of distress or agitation.

Liaise with emergency services and other professionals to ensure appropriate care and intervention.

Provide guidance and encouragement to clients in achieving their personal goals and aspirations.

**Person Specifications**:
Full UK Driving Licence - Ideal but not Essential.

Forensic Mental health knowledge and experience essential

Must have worked within a care role supporting adults with complex needs such as mental health and learning disabilities.

Confident with supporting adults with complex behaviour challenges (verbal and physical)

Ability to effectively implement effective de-escalation strategies to support with behaviour challenges.

The ability to multi-task.

Good understanding of therapeutic approaches

Good time management, organization, attention to detail and flexibility.

A positive ‘can do’ attitude.

Good Communication Skills.

You must have a compassionate, caring, positive personality.

Possess a genuine passion for making a real difference in people’s lives.

Able to manage challenging behaviour and conflict.

Works well as part of a team as well as individually.
