The Principal Marine Systems Engineer role is based within our Mission Systems business area.

**The role**
**The difference our new Principal Marine Systems Engineer will make**

As a Principal Marine Systems Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will be working closely with the Defence Equipment and Support organisation in the Ministry of Defence, and the Royal Navy to provide the Systems Technical Authorityfor the Marine Engineering systems on both the Royal Navy's T45 Destroyers and Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers, which are essential in supporting both front line operations and the through life sustainment of the systems.

You will provide proactive technical support to our customer, working collaboratively with other stakeholders across the MoD, Royal Navy and industry. You will provide authoritative recommendations for design intent maintenance and update, including butnot limited to safety case, hazard, design baseline, obsolescence, maintenance and technical documentation management, performance improvement, training and design change.

**Essential experience**
You will be a Chartered Engineer, with proven experience in activity associated with integrated systems.

As part of the Systems Technical Authority, you will contribute to setting and upholding engineering standards and maintaining a focus on the Safe to Operate status of marine systems. As an effective problem solver, you can balance theory and reality tofind pragmatic solutions and trade the competing demands of urgent reactive support with the progression of through life improvements.

You will have knowledge of marine systems; it is desirable that your knowledge relates specifically to platform systems outlined above. Your system engineering experience will have been gained via either a design and development, or in-service use/ supportenvironment. You will have experience working across mechanical, electrical, hydraulics and control system domains.
You must be able to achieve Security Clearance.
