Tom Walker & Sons is a Cheese Cutting and Contract Packing Business supplying the major supermarkets and B2B customers. The company has an excellent reputation in the Dairy Industry for customer service and high technical standards.

This new role will offer support to the office functional heads and will incorporate a variety of office duties particularly in the HR, NPD and Logistics Functions.

Key responsibilities include:
Reception duties, ensuring visitors are greeted warmly and directed appropriately and that policies regarding visitors to the site are followed correctly

Telephone answering, ensuring calls are answered in a polite and timely manner and dealt with accordingly

Receive and record the booking in of deliveries and produce summary

Daily preparation of outgoing post ensuring correct postage rates applied

Their part in day-to-day operational planning of transport for outbound deliveries

Order-processing functions to translate customer orders into the TWS sales order processing system when necessary

Their part in liaison with customers to clarify orders, plan transport, investigate delivery discrepancies and assist with their enquiries

Their part of the generation and production of timely and accurate sales and despatch documentation, to final invoice stage.

Final checks and scanning of production route sheets and the provision of outstanding route sheet report to Production Manager on a daily basis.

Arrange and prepare courier and sample despatches as requested

Answer or direct staff queries to appropriate department

Provide assistance with printing, scanning, sending faxes, provision of labels as requested.

Monitor stationery stocks and re-order as needed

Operational involvement with any aspects of the company dictated by the needs of the business.

Liaison with Recruitment Agency where necessary. Authorisation of hours worked by agency staff.

Monitor and record staff absence and holidays.

Oversee the induction of new staff and facilitating the onboarding process for new hires.

Their part in staff training together with assistance with planning & delivery of continuous staff training to meet the needs of the business.

Their part in the maintenance of staff training records.

Their part in the update and maintenance of the Employee Handbook as needed, in line with changes in the law and the notification to staff where appropriate.

Their part in implementation of employment policies.

Their part in listening to employee conflicts and communicating issues to the HR Manager.

Additional administrative tasks maybe required as necessary.

Experience would be beneficial but full training would be given. This role is ideal for someone looking to move into a medium sized local business, gain experience in a multitude of functions which would lead to a larger role in a specific office function.

Knowledge of the SAGE accounting system, Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint would be beneficial but not essential.

**Salary**: £10.60-£11.00 per hour
