About the roleWe manage a portfolio of contracts to deliver highway works with a combined value in excess of £80m. This role will be key to managing our contracts to ensure we achieve the best outcomes for our communities. This will include working with our supply chain, building positive relationships and achieving best value in terms of value for money, quality product and contributing to our net zero target.
Overall purpose of this role:

- To deliver Highways and Transportation commissions which will contribute effectively to the quality of life for the people of Cambridgeshire
- To assist in the management, development, commissioning and maintenance of the County Council’s highways and transportation infrastructure and to support effective prioritisation with limited resources and value for money.
- To provide professional and technical advice, support and capacity in relation to delivering the Council and Directorate’s objectives through joined-up service planning, community engagement and the flexible use of resources.
- The post covered by this job description support the full range of Commissions managed by the Highways Service

About youYou will be capable of interpreting a New Engineering Contract (NEC) and have experience in administering the contract including use of standard forms and/or systems. You will benefit from contract management experience in the same or similar highways setting and be keen to drive forward best value through effective and robust contract management principles.
