Sustainable and resilient infrastructure is a key part of the response to combat the impacts of climate change and our team has a part to play. International work undertaken by UK companies will be critical to help enable key challenges over the coming decades, particularly climate change, to be addressed.

As the Government department responsible for Trade and Investment, DIT has an important role to play. We support UK companies to grow sustainably and, ultimately, to take their knowledge, expertise and delivery to the global market. We are also responsible for attracting high value Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) into the UK, in support of economic growth. The team’s work also feeds into the UK government’s sustainability agenda through the 10 Point Plan and the Net Zero Strategy.

**Job description**

**Role One - Sector Team + Corporate Support**

Finance
- Assist in budget monitoring and the management of end of year finance processes.
- Ensure the smooth procurement of goods and services and payment of invoices.
- Work with the wider team and central finance team to monitor finance spend and procurement processes.

Team Deputy Director Support
- Support Deputy Director as required e.g. diary management, taking minutes and actions at senior team management meetings, leading on organisation and administration of the Cross Whitehall International Infrastructure Forum and supporting on corporate activities such as team awaydays.

Management of Team Core Briefing and Documents
- Work with colleagues to develop and regularly update the team’s core brief.
- Manage input and development of core team documents e.g. Events and Visits Tracker.
- Co-ordinate input into central briefing requests including the Directorate’s Core Script.

Briefings
- Assist with Ministerial and corporate briefing requests e.g. co-ordinate input from wider team and prepare initial draft.

Key Event Support
- Support in the preparation and delivery of incoming and outgoing trade and foreign direct investment visits, providing input and support to events and activities.
- Provide event support (logistics, management) to Sector Managers for UK based (e.g. World Water Tech) and overseas events (e.g. InnoTrans).
- Work with the wider Infrastructure team to support on the provision of digital marketing materials and marketing collateral such as images and pull ups.

Wider Infrastructure Team Support (joint responsibility of both roles)

**Role Two - Partnerships Team + Corporate Support**
- Desk based research e.g. on markets of interest.
- Initial drafting of Partnerships teams responses to any relevant correspondence and help to coordinate input for responses to Parliamentary Questions (if any). Assist with Ministerial and corporate briefing requests e.g. co-ordinate input from wider team and prepare initial draft.
- Assist in updating the Partnerships teams stakeholder mapping tracker.
- Provide support to the Partnerships teams on cross government and partner country groups.

Programme Budget
- Assist in programme budget monitoring and the management of end of year finance processes.
- Ensure the smooth procurement of goods and services and payment of invoices.

Learning and Development Programmes
- Proactively develop learning opportunities for the team. Build relationships with stakeholders from industry and other government departments to work together in leading an infrastructure themed webinar series, designed to upskill the wider team in relevant infrastructure related topics.
- Support the delivery and development of the team’s learning programme for overseas staff on infrastructure and related cluster themes.

Information Management and Digital
- Lead the Infrastructure team’s input into digital developments and systems within the department such as Datahub and share knowledge and best practice within the team.
- Manage and develop the team’s SharePoint site, MS Team site and infrastructure pages on the DIT Learning Hub.
- Management of the team’s Information Asset Register.

Key Event Support
