Guala Closures UCP Ltd is a fast-paced manufacturing and design Company who are a key supplier to the drinks industry. We are about to embark on an exciting transformation project that will see all three of our current sites move to a new, purpose-built facility in Gartcosh. Alongside all this change activity we are committed to continuing to deliver our day job and provide our customers with high-quality products.

A key part of our day job is delivery highly decorative closures and our sputtering technology is a core part of this. Sputtering is a decoration method that achieves a highly decorative, metalised finished. We have two highly sophisticated production lines that help us to achieve these quality finishes.

Due to an increase in demand, we have an opportunity to expand the team. Our Technical Operators are proactive and innovative characters who are always looking to achieve excellent results and improvements. The key responsibilities of the role include:

- Maintaining quality by carrying out regular checks and where necessary making system adjustments to ensure product conforms to the current standard for colour and aesthetic appearance
- Responsible for accurately recording all relevant production data including, machine settings, traceability data of raw materials, paints, masks, targets, mandrels etc. and logging any downtime incurred during the shift on the appropriate paperwork or database
- Load and unload all products to and from the system boxing up and palletizing all finished product for shipping to next operation/customer.
- Ensuring compliance of regular house-keeping and maintenance tasks to sustain system performance by adhering to planned procedures and practices. Recording compliance where necessary on the appropriate data capture system
- Working with minimum supervision, using acquired knowledge and skills to carry out basic fault finding tasks, demonstrating the capability of resolving faults safely and satisfactorily to maintain continuous levels of good production
- Carry out cleaning and housekeeping of masks, mandrels, pallets and other items using in-house cleaning equipment.
- Responsible for the servicing, cleaning and maintenance of spray equipment as required
