What you’ll be doing

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an extremely well organised and confident Assistant Editor to join the Hachette Children’s Colour Non-fiction and Licensing book team in a full-time position. Reporting to the Publishing Director, you’ll provide administrative and editorial assistance to the Colour Non-fiction and Licensing book team. You’ll act as editorial lead on designated titles, and provide editorial support on others, helping to ensure that all titles are accurate, consistent and delivered on schedule. You’ll assist with the day-to-day running of the Colour Non-fiction and Licensing lists, inputting information and ensuring the smooth running of editorial systems.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a highly organised and efficient Assistant Editor with excellent communication skills who is confident managing multiple tasks and tight deadlines. You should have experience in the publishing industry, and experience of Children’s Colour Non-fiction and/ or Licensing is desirable.

This is a broad and varied role, and we are looking for somebody who will embrace working collaboratively with teams across the organisation. We need you to bring a positive, can-do approach and build strong relationships with your immediate team, other departments, as well as authors, licensors, illustrators and agents.
