We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate and highly motivated person to join our Paediatric Liaison Service as the Administrator for the Team.

As a service we are committed to ensuring that we provide safe and efficient information sharing for children and young people who access our Trust services.

The role of the Band 2 Paediatric Liaison Admin is to provide administrative support for statutory information sharing of children / young people’s presentations to the acute hospital services with all appropriate multiagency partners who may be supporting the child/ young person / family at that time.

Duties will include recording and monitoring all operational activity for the service, updating systems and patient records with child protection data, updating clinicians on invites to child protection meetings and supporting service audit under the guidance of the Safeguarding Admin Lead.

The work of the Safeguarding Children Team is an essential responsibility for Torbay and South Devon Trust. Our work can be fast paced, demanding and unpredictable.

Main duties of the job
- To provide administrative support for statutory information sharing of children / young people’s presentations to the acute hospital services with all appropriate multiagency partners who may be supporting the child/ young person / family at that time.
- To use Trust IT systems to identify any referrals that have been generated for the Paediatric Liaison Team.
- To populate the relevant proformas for internal Trust/ multiagency information sharing; such as Paed Liaison/MASH/MARAC.
- To complete and maintain an up to date monitoring systems for all operational duties, where applicable, supporting quality assurance of Paediatric Liaison and Safeguarding Children operational business.
- To be skilled in various IT systems and use of Microsoft office systems such as excel spreadsheets, word documents.
- To assist with sharing the emergency department attendance information for the under 18’s twice a week, to support Trust statutory information sharing responsibilities.
- To assist with updating the Child Protection flags on IHCS.
- To print and scan referrals, minutes and other information onto WinDip.
- To send filing to medical records on a daily basis.
- Support audit process for Paediatric Liaison service and wider Safeguarding Children service, as directed by Safeguarding Admin.
- Answering the telephone and directing calls to most appropriate person.
- To contribute to the development of Standard Operating Procedures and Policies, their implementation and continual review.
- To participate in team meetings and provide support for the Admin Lead and wider Safeguarding Admin Team, as and when required.
- Any other reasonable duties to support the Paediatric Liaison service information sharing, as required.
