**SCALE**: Performance grades 1-4 with qualification and role grades between grades

A commitment to undertake and successfully complete Common Induction Standards(CIS)

Award training and NVQ / QCF training is a requirement of this post.

**RESPONSIBLE TO**: Team Leader

Staff will be responsible to the line manager under whose supervision they will work, and in the day to

day work will be responsible to the senior officer on duty.

**MAIN JOB PURPOSE**: A project worker works as a member of a team, and may also provide

individual key worker responsibilities, their aim being to work with tenants in all aspects of daily living

(physical care as well as personal and emotional needs and domestic-living skills) planning with each

individual tenant towards as full and independent a life as possible. Members of staff must have and be

able to demonstrate good values with an ability to respect the tenants’ wishes and views in order to

enable them to enjoy a full and enriched life. It will mean that clients are able to live their own lives as

they wish; confident that services are of high quality, are safe and promote their own individual needs

for independence, well-being, and dignity.

**SPECIFIC TASKS**: Through working to principles of normalisation and mutual respect the

following areas will be supported and facilitated:
**WORK WITH INDIVIDUAL TENANTS**
- Support to a good and adequate level of self-care and health.
- Assisting in reviewing and developing individual programme plans with individual tenants in

accordance with their expressed needs and interests.
- Assisting service users to develop and sustain a range of relationships in the community
- Supporting service users with any personal or behavioural difficulties they may have.
- Help develop and implement positive behaviour strategies
- Assisting service users to develop/sustain their interests, hobbies, and activities.
- Facilitate clear communication with service users exploring different opportunities and creative

methods of enabling them to fully interact.
- Promoting the physical, spiritual and emotional well-being of service users
- Monitoring, recording and producing reports on the progress of tenants.
- Keywork responsibilities including ensuring overall quality of life and in co-ordinating and affecting

all areas of a tenant’s life.

WORK WITH HOUSEHOLDS/GROUPS OF TENANTS/WITH THEIR TENANCY
- Support to carry out their tenancy responsibilities - keeping their house clean and well-maintained;
paying bills and budgeting income against expenditure, keeping good neighbour relations, where

sharing respecting each other and agreeing any house rules with each other.
- Promoting understanding and tolerance within the project. Encouraging tenants to participate

appropriately in all aspects of community life.
- Participating in regular discussions with all household members to enable group tasks mutual

understanding and assistance with relationships etc.
- Facilitate regular house meetings with service users, members of staff and other key individuals

ensuring accurate minutes are taken of the meetings.

**WORK WITH THE COMMUNITY**
- Creating and maintaining contact and liaison with community resources to enhance tenants’ roles

as valued citizens. Helping the development of relationships and friendships with local people who are not paid to be with them.
- Undertaking such involvement with a tenant’s family relatives and friends as any individual

programme plan specifies.
- Pursuing knowledge of and contact with a wide range of local amenities.
- Enable service users to promote their positive presence in the community

PARTICIPATION IN THE PROFESSIONAL LIFE OF THE PROJECT
- Supporting other staff members and receiving support from them.
- Taking part in staff team meetings, case conferences, discussion, reviews strategy days and person

centred plans.
- Demonstrating the responsibility to be as open and candid as possible about personal actions and

those of colleagues.
- Contributing to and benefiting from the total staff team resources and communicating fully and

creatively with other staff members.
- Making use of supervision sessions with senior staff.
- Providing general on-duty supervision and induction training to trainee/starter/student/staff.
- Maintaining confidentiality of all information on tenants / service users.
- Attending agreed training courses.
- Report all accidents, mishaps, near misses and complaints etc.
- Be part of a team to sleep over on a rota basis when necessary.
- Ensure familiarity with and conformity to Integrate’s policies and practices.

**ADMINISTRATIVE**
- Keeping daily records as required
- Supporting any health or medication administration and record-keeping
