JOB DESCRIPTION - ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT (OFFICE BASED)
Role: Accounting Assistant
Based At: Unit 2, High Post Business Park, Salisbury, Wiltshire, SP4 6AT
Reporting To: Accounting Manager
Job Purpose Summary:
Working alongside the Accounting Manager, providing fast and accurate assistance within the Accounts Department and processing daily invoicing.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Fast and accurate processing of daily invoicing on Orderwise, Sage 50 and WeSupply Portal.
- Accurate preparation of proforma invoices in a timely manner and allocating payments.
- Assisting with the accurate processing of supplier invoices on Sage.
- Credit control, to minimise overdue aged debtor accounts.
- Assisting with logging customer payments.
- Communicate and liaise both verbally and in writing with customers, suppliers, visitors and co-workers, and interpret and respond clearly and effectively.
- Logging information on calls received, where required, and maintain detailed and accurate records.
- File data and perform other routine administrative tasks for other departments as required.
- Operate a variety of computer software, including Microsoft Office, Sage Line 50, Excel and OrderWise.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and customers.
- Maintain regular, consistent, and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance, and adherence to relevant health and safety procedures.
- Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role.
- Perform any other duties as may be required as commensurate with the general nature of the business.
Skills/Experience Required:
Essential:
- GCSE English and Maths, minimum 6 GCSE Grade C/4 or above.
- AAT Level 2 Qualified.
- Experience of Sage Line 50 and Excel software.
- Minimum of 1 year full-time office work experience.
- Accurate data entry skills.
- Ability to work proactively in a small team.
Desirable:
- Experience within a financial or accounting environment.
- AAT Level 3 Qualified.
