**About the Trust**

The Northern Care Alliance is an NHS Foundation Trust (NCA FT) created by bringing together two NHS Trusts, Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust and The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. The NCA FT was formally established on 1 October 2021. The NCA has been working together as a group since 2016.

**What you’ll be responsible for**:

- Responsible for providing reception services for patients attending Podiatry outpatient appointments; this will include receiving patients and directing them to the treatment area whilst recording the patient’s attendance on the appropriate system (patient centre)
- Responsible for providing an appointment booking service to enable patients to book future appointments when leaving the department. This may also involve some telephone booking of appointments and the scheduling of forthcoming appointments, from other sources of patient enquires, whilst providing a confidential, efficient patient-friendly and outside agency contact service.
- Ensure all reception processes are carried out in a timely and accurate manner to ensure an efficient reception and quality service to all users.

**You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust**:
1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS

2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times

3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation

**You’ll have the following skills/experience**:

- Excellent communication skills
- both verbal and written
- Microsoft office skills
- Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Previous admin experience
- Previous NHS experience (desirable)
- NHS System Knowledge
- Patient Centre, Porters System and Patient Transports Systems (desirable)

**Duties**:

- Greet and welcome visitors in a professional and friendly manner
- Answer and direct phone calls to the appropriate person or department
- Provide information to callers and visitors regarding the company, products, and services
- Schedule appointments and maintain calendars for multiple staff members
- Assist with event planning and coordination
- Transcribe and proofread documents as needed
- File and organize paperwork and documents
- Perform order entry tasks as required

**Skills**:

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and document preparation
- Proficient in using office equipment such as computers, printers, and scanners
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Familiarity with basic office software (Microsoft Office Suite)
- Previous experience in a receptionist or administrative role is preferred
