Norwich, United Kingdom Hertfordshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust is committed to investing in and developing staff. We are now in a position to recruit Registered Nursing Associates to the team at the Astley Court, Little Plumstead Hospital, Norfolk, NR13 5EW. We are looking for staff who have a desire to work with individuals with Learning Disabilities to join our hard working and committed team.

Astley Court is a purpose built, Assessment and Treatment, in-patient unit which caters for the needs of individuals with learning disabilities. The purpose of the service is to provide short term inpatient care to individuals to enable a return to a community living setting.

The post involves 24-hour rotation. We offer extra payments for unsocial hours worked. Assistance with relocation is also available, payment amount to be agreed individually based on each appointment.

We offer a fantastic preceptorship programme for newly Registered Nursing Associates that allow you to develop your clinical, communication and leadership skills with excellent support.

The role involves working directly with service users who may have a mix of complex needs. The service aims to support individuals with various aspects of their lives, which may include physical, social and mental health needs. Unfortunately, there are times where service users are unable to safely manage their own behaviour/needs. Staff will be faced with situations which are challenging and stressful not only for the service user but also themselves and the staff team.

As a Registered Nursing Associate, you will be involved in the day-to-day running of the in-patient service and will assist the Health Care Assistants, Registered Nurses, Team Leader and wider Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) in maintaining effective team working processes and patient care/safety.

The Registered Nursing Associate will work independently under the leadership of registered nurses. They will support the service in delivering holistic and person-centred care and support to people who access the service.

Registered Nursing Associates will be expected to exercise a considerable degree of initiative, possess mature judgment, and maintain a calm, friendly and efficient manner when dealing with patients, their relatives, colleagues and visitors.

Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (HPFT) is an outstanding organisation with ambitions to match. We are one of just five mental health trusts to achieve an overall rating of ‘Outstanding’ from the Care Quality Commission, and our aim is to be the leading provider of mental health and specialist learning disability services in the country.

Our family of over 3500 members of staff provide health and social care for over 400,000 people with mental ill health, physical ill health and learning disabilities across Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and Norfolk, delivering these services within the community and several inpatient settings. We also deliver a range of nationally commissioned specialist services including Tier 4 services for children and young people, perinatal services, plus medium and low secure learning disabilities services.

The care we provide makes a fantastic difference to the lives of our service users, their families and carers - everything is underpinned by choice, independence and equality, with our Trust values embedded throughout:
**Our Trust values are**:
Welcoming. Kind. Positive. Respectful. Professional.

These values are at the core of who we are, everything we do, and how we do it

Would you like to be part of the HPFT family? Would you like work with us to ensure our service users live the fullest lives possible they can? Would you like to be supported in your career to be the best that you can be?
