**(OXFORD)**:
**Introduction**:
The SENCO reports to the College Principal & Examinations Officer with regard to the daily functions of his or her job.

**General duties**:
The focus of the SENCO role is in providing an excellent and rewarding experience for students attending Greene’s and as set out in more detail below. The SENCO will _work_ with the Examinations Officer to ensure that access arrangements are applied for, in good time, and are in place as required.

This is a part-time position, for two to three days per week. Holidays are not to be taken during term time. There is an expectation that during the examination period extended hours may need to be worked. Time off in lieu for these hours is possible if agreed in advance with the line manager.

**S**pecific responsibilities will include, but are not limited to**:

- Working with tutors and staff, through individual meetings, workshops and training sessions etc., to develop the knowledge and skills in relation to the tuition of students with SEND;
- Interpreting Educational Psychological reports, putting in place IEPs and monitoring progress;
- Producing reports and updates on the educational progress of students to tutors, staff and parents where required;
- Collecting and interpreting specialist assessment and performance data, updating the College Principal and governors on the effectiveness of provision for students requiring additional support;
- Providing one-to-one support to students. This will include weekly or fortnightly in-person meetings with students with higher SEN needs;
- Providing referrals for students to receive support outside of College hours, from Therapists, Medical Specialists or Tutors;
- Identifying effective resources to meet the additional needs of students and advising the Principal on priorities for expenditure;
- Attending appropriate training, CPD and conferences, providing feedback to colleagues.

**Examination** **Access Arrangements**

**Supporting** **students with EHCPs**
- Reviewing EHCPS, and informing the College and tutors of the support required;
- Coordinating & attending annual review meetings (including requesting assessment and reports from relevant professionals in advance of the meeting);
- Holding interim reviews of EHCPs especially where there is a significant change in the need or provision required.

**General caveat**:
The above is not an exhaustive list of duties. The post-holder may be asked to take on different tasks as required, particularly during the summer months when all employees are expected to _work_ collaboratively to support the overall _work_ of the College.

**Indicators of performance**:
Measures of individual performance include:

- Student feedback on learning experience is >90% on the student feedback questionnaire
- All examination access arrangements are processed by the deadlines set by the Examinations Office
- A minimum of 3 tutor training session to be organised per year.

The job also requires collaborative working with and support to work colleagues as detailed above and otherwise. Overall considerations of performance will take this into account.

**Hours of **_work_** & salary**

The normal hours of _work_ are 15 per week. You may be required to _work_ additional hours when authorised and as necessitated by the needs of the business. The salary range is from £13,500 + per annum (dependent on experience).
