**Salary**:£54,000 - £69,000 dependent on qualifications and experience

**About The Role**

The purpose of this role is to provide uniquedelivery support services for Cadent’s Investment Planning Office which do not fall under existing delivery partners for the West Midlands Network. You will provide engineering and contact management capabilityto ensure effective delivery of a defined programme of works. The Delivery Support Team within the Investment Planning Office works collaboratively with Network Operations, the Construction Management Organisation and Local Delivery Partners to ensure effectivedelivery of Cadent works and this role is crucial for delivery works for the network in its own right.

The role holder will be accountable for ensuring works are delivered in accordance with Safe Control of Operations, and in accordance with relevant Cadent Engineering Procedures and Health and Safety standards. They will also be expected to lead / supporttenders and contract award of related programme works, as well as lead / support on asset-related and contractor investigations as required.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Lead and manage multiple main works contractors to deliver projects in a timely; safe and cost-effective manner to required governance with a considered customer focus.
- Lead on end to end project lifecycle - from feasibility to design to construction and to closure - ensuring best value solution for Cadent is achieved throughout project lifecycle.
- Lead on tender events and play a crucial role in defining project scope, timelines and accountabilities
- ensuring contractor awarded poses best value to Cadent.
- Assure all Engineering activities are completed as per the agreed programme whilst considering management of plans; resource; quality and associated risks.
- Role model and embed a positive safety culture and process safety within the Cadent team and external partnersto improve collective safety performance ensuring adherence to company policy, aims and objectives.
- Challenge project teams to ensure project scope, designs and delivery solutions are innovative, efficient andfit for purpose
- Personally, undertake role of Authorising Engineer as part of day to day duties for allocated complex projects.
- Drive understanding of Regulatory requirements (RIIO) into Engineering teams.
- Support the succession and development of WM Engineering Functions across the network in accordance to SCO and Contract management protocols.

**About You**

Knowledge and Qualification
- Degree or relevant experience and Membership of Professional Body
- Registered SCO 2 / 5 /4 CP & AE Competencies and experience of administering each in a delivery environment
- Project Management Experience
- Experience in developing, coaching and progressing capabilities of key operatives
- Leading and active involvement in implementing innovations and new processes
