**Test leads - Data Warehousing**

Opportunities for experienced Test Leads who have specialist skills and knowledge within data warehousing. In these roles you will be working as skilled test consultants to deliver world class software testing solutions to our Client Located in Gatwick. These role's will require 2/3 days on site per week at Gatwick.

**Skills Required**:
You will bring experience as a test lead and data warehousing where you will have developed your specialist knowledge in this area on real time operations systems and ERP systems. You will be involved in and able to demonstrate skills across the following:

- Lead, support and directly participate in the testing of Software development through projects and small change activities (as directed) across the full software development & project delivery lifecycle, in-line with adopted standards, practices and procedures.
- Plan, manage, monitor and report on testing activities across multiple programmes and projects running in parallel.
- Develop a strategy and implement test automation to make tests repeatable, reducing testing effort and cost.
- Write test strategies, test plans and test cases/script.
- Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders on test approach and effort estimates.
- Manage and lead external teams and software suppliers to ensure BUL test approach is aligned with their test approach.
- Introduce and promote testing best practice within software development, including contributing to a centre of excellence for the discipline.
- Line management, pastoral care and professional development of direct reports in-line with University and departmental policies and procedures. Acting where necessary to improve and maintain standards within the team.
- Coaching and mentoring of individuals / small groups within the team (and more widely as appropriate) to grow the capability of individuals and the wider team.
- Support and contribute to the introduction and adoption of the methodology, standards, tools and practices for the software development lifecycle.
- Contribute to, support and ensure the adherence of appropriate & proportionate governance for all Information Services software development undertakings relevant to the discipline.
- Supporting, implementing and contributing to wider Department improvement plans, supporting a culture of continual improvement for the unit using Industry best practice and Agile/Lean as a guiding light.
- Define and implement a process for testing SaaS based products.
- Support and contribute to the creation, measurement and reporting on KPI’s to monitor the effectiveness of the testing discipline in meeting (or exceeding) the needs of BUL

- Knowledge of testing activities in the software development and project delivery lifecycle.
- Extensive knowledge of industry best practices & approaches for the testing in-house developed & SaaS software.
- Knowledge of embedding automation in a software development context.
- Knowledge of continuous testing through CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of Data Protection Act(2018) and GDPR.

3. Experience**
- Experience in devising, establishing and operating a test management function through the full testing lifecycle.
- Hands on experience of writing and executing manual test cases.
- Experience of writing and executing automated test scripts in a DevOps environment (desired).
- Experience of defect management and triage. Own defects, triage and assign to the relevant teams. Plan re-testing cycles to verify defect fixes.
- Experience of testing Non-Functional requirements in a software development and SaaS environment.
- Exposure to relational database tools, structures and modelling (desired).
