**Key Purpose**
- To ensure that all students rapidly improve their numeracy levels across the whole

school.
- To lead on numeracy development across all phases of the school, rapidly improving

our numeracy provision and outcomes for students:

- Developing a numeracy curriculum vision including non-negotiables of delivery in

accordingly.
- Lead a waved bespoke intervention package of numeracy catch up across all

phases.
- Ensure that all aspects of numeracy are accurately assessed and data is used

diagnostically to improve outcomes for students.
- Work with teachers to ensure they are tracking numeracy progress on a regular basis

and it is used to inform planning and interventions.
- Ensure Numeracy data is reported on a regular basis to Senior Leaders and Governors

and lead on any external assessments.
- Lead on reporting to Parents around numeracy progress.
- Work closely with the Teaching and Learning Lead to devise and deliver appropriate

staff CPD to support Numeracy development.
- Work closely with the Curriculum Lead to map and sequence the numeracy

curriculum; ensuring that there is consistency of approach to numeracy across the

school to support students.

**Duties and responsibilities: Teaching**

As a classroom teacher, you are expected to:

- plan, prepare and present lessons in accordance with WSS Guidelines;
- teach, according to the educational needs of all students assigned to deploying

strategies within the WSS Graduated Response to Teaching, Learning and

Expectations (GRTLE);
- mark and record assessments completed by students, ensuring all underperforming

work is challenged in line with school guidance;
- set and mark homework in accordance with school policy;
- assess, record and report on the development, progress and attainment of students

by using appropriate baseline data;
- assess how well learning objectives have been achieved and use this assessment to

improve aspects of teaching.

**Duties and responsibilities: Leading and managing staff**
- Provide support to staff regarding teaching and learning, resources, and planning for

numeracy.
- Monitor teaching and learning by visiting lessons, scrutinising books, and talking with

students to assess how well numeracy is being implemented and how well it is

delivered across the school.
- Provide feedback to staff based on the above observations to identify training needs

and provide continuing professional development (CPD) in numeracy.
- Coach and model team teaching.
- Support teachers to make accurate assessments, manage internal and external

moderation, and complete external moderation exercises.
- Contribute to timetabling and manage setting students into attainment groups.

**Duties and responsibilities: Efficient and effective deployment of resource**

Our students deserve the best. It is of significant importance at WSS that all staff:

- create and maintain a safe, welcoming environment and take care of the learning

environment, ensuring classroom displays are stimulating, of high quality, and inspire

curiosity in students;
- prepare appropriate resources for remote learning to ensure the curriculum can be

delivered to students learning from home due to coronavirus for example.

- contribute as a member of the WSS Team to aspects of school life which enhance

our community;
- attend and contribute to staff meetings and INSET days as required;
- take responsibility for safeguarding and children’s welfare and ensure the immediate

reporting to the DSL or a Deputy DSL of any safeguarding matters which place a child

at risk or potential risk;
- be aware of health and safety issues and act in accordance with the school’s Health

and Safety policy;
- maintain positive discipline and uphold school policies and practices at all times,
