The Organisation

Cosgrove Care was established in 1960 in Glasgow by a parent who saw the need for specialist support for her disabled child at a time when families had no right to support, and children with learning disabilities did not have access to education. The charity has grown to support over 250 children, adults and older adults today across West Central Scotland and has retained that pioneering spirit and determination to deliver services and help people with learning disabilities, autism and additional needs achieve and thrive.

We believe in a social model of disability and our mission and values embrace an inclusive and accessible way of working.

The organisation is a medium sized charity, with a strong Board of Trustees and a team of over 200 staff and 90 volunteers. The organisation has an established donor database and ambitions to broaden and expand support.

The organisation is Autism Accredited and provides a range of supports and services to children, adults and families who have learning disabilities, autism and additional needs. Services include supported living services, outreach support for children and adults, short breaks and skills development and creative groups.

About the Role

Cosgrove Care is an ambitious and forward-thinking organisation, working with some of the most vulnerable people in our communities. This is a new post, working closely with the Corporate Management Team and Board of Directors.

You will lead the development and implementation of fundraising plans to deliver a comprehensive range of fundraising activities to maximise the funding and deliver the best possible services and outcomes for children and adults with learning disabilities, autism and additional needs.

You will establish a range of new income streams, expanding digital technologies.

At a pivotal time of growth, we are looking for an experienced fundraising professional with a proven track record of significant income generation to join our team.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, the post holder will have the opportunity to influence the future shape of our fundraising team.

As the role requires working outside regular office hours from time to time, the hours of work can be worked flexibly to meet the requirements of the role.

This is a role where you will be able to work directly with the Corporate Management Team and the Board of Trustees to enhance income generation and delivery of the strategy for Cosgrove Care.

Key tasks

1.To led on the creation, development and implementation of an Income Generation Strategy for Cosgrove Care.

2.To develop and implement innovative fundraising initiatives to secure new income streams and supporters.

3. To manage and develop corporate giving and sponsorship opportunities.

6. To lead and oversee a team small team including a Fundraising Officer and Part-Time Fundraising Officer and Volunteer Co-ordinator. To be responsible for leading the team to achieve its targets across all key performance indicators.

7. To monitor and forecast on a regular basis and report progress and developments to the CEO and Director of Finance and Corporate Services.

8.To ensure all donors are given the highest level of customer care and that all enquiries and requests are responded to quickly and effectively.

9. To ensure the systems and processes that underpin the administration of the Fundraising Team are effective and efficient and oversee development of the CRM system.

10. To embed excellent donor stewardship across community, corporate, trust and individual fundraising.

11. To contribute to the CMT, playing a role in the strategic development of the organisation.

12. To undertake exceptional prospect research and identify fundraising opportunities.

14. To develop and enhance the use of CRM system and provide regular analysis and reports for CMT and the Board of Directors.

15. To lead and coordinate Trust and Foundations meetings, ensuring actions are captured, and participants receive accurate reports and analysis.

16. To manage the evaluation process and reports required to support funded projects / services that are in delivery. Develop and maintain an Income Generation Database including funders, corporate supporters and individual donors.

17. To address external audiences and present Cosgrove’s work for the purpose of promotion and gaining support.

18. To ensure that the work of the Fundraising Team meets the requirements of relevant charity legislation, law and operational policy.

17. To ensure Cosgrove’s fundraising complies with fundraising, data protection and OSCR regulations.

18. To undertake any other tasks commensurate with grade.
