**HR Officer and Bursary Administrator**

Dover College is a highly successful co-educational, boarding and day school of circa 320 pupils.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, organised and approachable individual to support the HR function by providing a comprehensive, efficient and high-quality HR service ensuring all statutory requirements are met and the values of College are adhered to, at all times. To be the first point of contact for on all HR matters in accordance with College policies. To support the wider Bursary teams; Finance & IT with administrative tasks.

**The role is part-time (40 hours per week). Either Term Time Plus or 52 weeks per year will be considered.**

We are committed to the safeguarding of children. All employees must have the ability to understand and adhere to Child Protection and Safeguarding legislation. References will be taken prior to interview and a DBS check will be conducted on the successful applicant.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Work with the Director of Operations to ensure the effective delivery of HR services to the whole school;
- Take a lead on absence management, complete return to work interviews, undertake absence reviews and progress these to a conclusion, in accordance with the Sickness and Absence Policy;
- Take notes of formal personnel meetings, ensuring all correspondence and minutes are provided in good time;
- Oversee the administration and completion of all staff and governor training across the school, including that using the College’s chosen Learning Management System (currently EduCare);
- Undertake pre-employment checks for all staff, volunteers and governors and ensure files and checks are updated in accordance with GDPR and Single Central Register requirements;
- Manage and maintain the Single Central Register in line with the College’s Safer Recruitment Policy and in accordance with ISI regulatory compliance;
- Liaise with the Director of Operations to ensure the accurate administration of payroll records including contract changes/variations;
- Work with all support staff managers to effectively manage and administer support staff annual leave entitlements;
- Maintain personnel files and the HR records on the school database (currently HRPro) to ensure good practice and housekeeping measures are in place in accordance with GDPR requirements;
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills;
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines;
- Attention to detail and the commitment to complete all tasks to a high standard;
- Compile reports, as required by the Headmaster, to identify trends and recommend solutions (e.g. absences, training, profile of the workforce);
- Oversee the management of any apprentices, working with external providers to utilise available funding for the benefit of the College workforce;
- Assist in the management of staff relationships, including responding to HR queries or problems;
- Work alongside members of SLT on whole school projects as required;
- Arrange referrals to Occupational Health where necessary.
- Offer administration support to non-teaching departments (Finance, IT) as required.
- Keep up-to-date records of all Governors.
- Assist with outgoing post and arrange maintenance of franking machine as required.
- Coordinate with the Examinations Officer on receipt and dispatch of examination material.
- Answer switchboard and redirect calls as necessary.
- Be able to communicate effectively with staff, pupils, parents, Governors and external agencies.
- Ensure the accident book is kept up-to-date.
- Maintain staff and telephone list for distribution.
- To provide reception cover within the Bursary as necessary;
- Assist with hospitality arrangements for visitors to the school meeting with the Director of Operations and/or the Director of Finance.
- Undertake a range of general administrative tasks to support the efficient operation of the school - including word processing, data entry, photocopying, scanning and filing.

**Salary**: £27,000.00-£29,000.00 per year
