HR & Recruitment Officer

We are seeking a Human Resources & Recruitment Officer to join our Human Resources Department in the provision of a high-quality service to our Group of GP Surgeries in Medway and Maidstone.
The HR & Recruitment officer will work with the HR department in the recruitment process, vetting process, co-ordination of induction, on boarding, training, updating staffing records, absence management, ensuring that all HR practices are fully compliant with Safer Recruitment and GDPR legislation.
Main Role and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the provision of HR advise and expertise to the business in liaison with the Partners.
- Provision of timely, effective, and human resource service in accordance with organisational policies, best practice, and current legislation.
- Lead the HR function from a transactional point of view including leading recruitment, managing ER cases.
- Provide professional advice and management on all aspects of HR - Recruitment, Retention, Performance management, Absences and Employee Relations.
- Be the first point of call in the management of employee relations cases including but not limited to disciplinary, grievances, absence, and performance management.
- Lead in change activities including - TUPE, contractual changes, redundancy, redeployments etc.
- Ensure employee records are up to date, accurate and comply with all governance and legal requirements.
- Ensure accurate information and data is held so that monthly reports of staff turnover, new starters, sickness, appraisal, supervision, end of probation etc. are correct.
- Ensure the training portal is kept up to date and all employee folders are compliance to CQC requirement observing safer recruitment protocols at all times.
- Plan a robust Induction for all new staff both clinical and non-clinical, following up on this to ensure plan is adhered to and all aspects of induction covered with relevant checklist signed and returned to HR.
- Oversee the Recruitment Officers duties and ensure the department is working to full scale providing full support to Managers.
- Oversee the appraisal system ensuring it is fit for purpose
- Update Policies and Procedures when due and when the situation warrants.
- Facilitating monthly payroll ensuring Finance department receives on time and accurate monthly information for all sites.
**key Skills and Experience Required**
- Educated to degree level and attained CIPD or equivalent qualification
- A minimum of two years HR Officer /Adviser experience
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to build rapport quickly with key members of the senior management team
- Strong working knowledge of employment law
- Knowledge of CQC regulations and safer recruitment
Due to the nature of our business, successful person will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check, will need to show proof of double covid vaccination and Childhood vaccinations and must be able to travel between sites within the Maidstone and Medway areas of Kent.
