Job Title: Payroll
Payroll Job Purpose:
Processes various payrolls in a timely and accurate manner. Creates and maintains employees' payroll records. Calculates wages and applicable deductions based on employee attendance and timesheet records. Enters payroll information into central system (Sage) for processing. Prepare payroll reports and journals in accordance with client’s individual requirements.
Payroll Job Duties:
- Processes payrolls every pay period - weekly, four weekly or monthly
- Maintains payroll processing system and records by gathering, calculating, and inputting data
- Computes employee take-home pay based on time records, benefits, and taxes
- Prepares Auto Enrolment contributions and uploads file (s) to appropriate provider
- Answers client questions about wages, deductions, attendance, and time records
- Process requests for leave and other absences if instructed
- Handles changes in exemptions, job status, and job titles if appropriate
- Adheres to payroll policies and procedures and complies with relevant law
- Identifies, investigates, and resolves discrepancies in timesheet and payroll records
- Honours confidentiality of employees' pay records
- Ensures client is aware of their tax obligations by providing tax month end information and explanations behind this if needed
- Ensures client is aware of their Auto Enrolment obligations or contributions
- Performs upload of files to clients bank accounts if requested for transfer of funds
Payroll Job Skills and Qualifications:
Excellent mathematical skills, accounting and bookkeeping skills, attention to detail, organisational skills, computer and typing skills, data entry, good verbal
communication, capable of working with mínimal supervision, honesty, follows instructions well, competent with spreadsheets, familiar with Sage payroll software, good understanding of tax procedures, familiarity with benefits and other wage deductions, a flexible attitude to work, ability to work to a deadline, sound decision

**Salary**: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
