**JOB TITLE: Partnership & Engagement Lead**

**LOCATION**: Salisbury Wiltshire (Hybrid working considered)

**HOURS**: 37hrs Full-time Flexible working hours and part time role also considered (min 28hrs),

**SALARY**: £28,500k

**BENEFITS**: 28 days annual holiday (includes Bank Hols)

We are looking for an experienced Partnership and Engagement specialist.

Using the principles and practices of ABCD (asset-based community development) when engaging the VCS and other stakeholders in Wiltshire:

- _Developing _**_relationships_** _and trust as mechanisms for change, _
- _Developing and _**_supporting reciprocity_** _and connectivity: “people not services,” _
- _Developing and _**_co-creating_** _socially sustainable models of working together._

**Wessex Community Action is looking for the right person to**:

- Facilitate and support the development of community networks, forums, and collaborative partnerships.
- Make individual issues community ones, building around needs and aspirations, building supportive groups and networks, developing opportunities for meaningful engagement and connection.
- Have the commitment to promoting the independence of the VCS Sector.

**You must be a driven individual with demonstrable experience in the following areas**:

- Strategic thinker, able to plan for the longer term and anticipate upcoming challenges.
- Outstanding communicator, able to use communications creatively and willing to try new strategies to get messages across.
- Leading and delivering effective community organising and engagement strategies within communities and neighbourhoods and with our strategic partners.
- Creating stakeholder engagement plans using a range of tools and approaches.
- Exceptional influencing and negotiation skills, with ability to forge relationships in situations where divergent views exist.
- Understanding of culturally competent approaches and the importance of building equitable plans for engagement.
- Designing effective participation approaches where no one is left behind and all are welcome.
- Position the Voluntary and community sector at the heart of leading change.

**About You**

**Essential skills and experience**
- Project Management:

- Management of complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, including setting outcomes, planning delivery, and tracking progress
- Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to balance multiple projects
- Ability to delegate to others where needed and to hold them accountable

**Relationship Management**:

- Enjoys working collaboratively with others, and has the confidence to proactively reach out to and communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders
- Excellent problem solving and creativity in complex situations
- Experience identifying and meeting the needs of external senior stakeholders, and organising those stakeholders into action

**Communication**:

- Strong verbal and written communication - compelling, clear, and grammatically correct
- Experience with meeting/workshop facilitation
- Ability to proactively engage with, and grow, online communities.
- Ability to communicate complex topics for a wide range of audiences

**Knowledge**

**Desirable (but not essential) skills and experience**
- Experience in influencing policy change
- Experience in building capacity for others to lead, e.g., through working groups, networks, roundtables, or other collective action
- Experience in end-to-end management of both in-person and virtual events (e.g., Zoom and MS Teams)
- Copywriting meeting-related documents e.g., pre-reading and post-event evaluation reporting
- Experience working with a CRM (e.g., Beacon) and survey tool (e.g., Microsoft Forms)
- Experience coordinating social media content and mass communications (e.g., Mailchimp)
- Experience producing and editing content for website pages
- Creativity in designing event structure and content.

**Key tasks**
- Making individual issues community ones, exploring, and developing partnership opportunities within the VCSE (Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise), communities and strategic partners around responding to identified needs and aspirations.
- Creating and supporting partnerships and networks that develop opportunities for meaningful collective engagement and action.
- Facilitate and identify, personal, community and organisational assets and resources, to mobilise a collective response that creates meaningful outcomes and actions to identified needs.
