**About the role**:
This is a new project at Citizens Advice Plymouth, working alongside nurse practitioners on the Frequent Use Support and Empowerment (FUSE) Team funded by the NHS. The project aims to assist complex frequent users of NHS Services through tailored interventions and support strategies to make positive and sustainable impacts on their lives.

The role involves both telephone and face-to-face work, working closely with GP surgeries and hospitals, as well as conducting home visits to assess and support clients’ needs. **This is not a hybrid role - all work will need to be conducted at our Cobourg House office, or at these outreach locations.**

There is no average appointment - advice is tailored to the needs of each client.

It can sometimes be a challenging role, but you will be fully trained and supported, working as a part of an approachable and supportive team in a rewarding environment to provide the best possible service to people across Plymouth.

You will share expert knowledge with other generalist advisers in areas including housing, debt & welfare benefits and ensure that the quality of advice continues to improve across the whole organisation.

This role is based both at Cobourg House and outreach such as GP surgeries, hospitals, and clients’ homes, providing support and advice where the community needs it most.

The role is 37 hours a week (9-5 Monday-Thursday and 9-4:30 on Fridays) on a permanent basis. Flexible working requests will be considered.

**Training**:Full training will be provided at our city centre office in Cobourg House, Mayflower Street. This is a 7 week period from 9th April and you must be available for the full 7 week training period - no annual leave will be authorised for these weeks.

**Who are we looking for**:
You will thrive on working with a diverse range of people and be open-minded, approachable and non-judgmental. You will take an empathetic and compassionate approach to clients to find solutions to the problems they are facing. You will have good critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify and unpick issues.

Caseworkers need to be resilient and able to manage face-to-face appointments and phone conversations well, including where clients are upset or suicidal. Good communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, as is the ability to effectively communicate with our clients with a non-judgmental approach. You will need to have experience of working with clients with complex needs and situations.

You’ll be able to write up case notes accurately and efficiently using a range of Office 365 programs and keep databases up to date accurately.

You will have good prioritisation and time management skills to be able to work efficiently as part of a team to reach as many clients as possible as quickly as possible.

**Hours**:
