**HELP US END YOUTH HOMELESSNESS**

**The role**:
Nightstop enables homeless and vulnerable people to access emergency accommodation in the homes of approved and trained volunteers. Guests receive immediate assessment and where appropriate, will be matched with a local volunteer who will provide overnight accommodation, breakfast and an evening meal and the use of washing and bathing facilities etc.

As Youth Homelessness Support Worker, you will act as the first point of contact for homeless people and agencies providing needs led advice and signposting. You will assess each young person’s needs and risks and find short and long term housing options.

**About you**

You will have excellent communication skills and be committed to the values and ethos of Depaul UK.
- Excellent customer service skills and telephone manner.
- An understanding of the needs of people who experience homelessness, the problems they face and the resources available to address their support needs.
- Experience of working with vulnerable people or people experiencing homeless.
- Understanding of current housing and homelessness legislation, including entitlement to welfare provision.
- Experience of writing, implementing and evaluating Risk Assessments.
