A family-run company based in Hitchin is seeking to add an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk on a temporary basis. The successful Purchase Ledger assistant will take ownership of the full purchase ledger process, including processing invoices, filing, openingpost and statement reconciliations. The role requires someone who is happy speaking with suppliers on the phone and is keen to learn new processes.
- Seeking approval from authorisers for all supplier invoices received
- Processing and recording of such Supplier invoices
- Ensuring re-charges are processed where relevant.
- Resolution of supplier queries.
- Preparation of Supplier payments via BACS.
- Assisting with supplier phone queries.
- Reconciling Supplier accounts to statements.
- Other ad hoc duties

Skills Required:

- Confident using Excel - (vlookup, pivot tables would be an advantage
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in Accounts Payable
- Previous experience using an accounting system
- Good communication skills
- Works well in a small team
