Become a part of the “strength within.”- Hexcel is currently seeking a temporary Safety Data Sheet Author for our Duxford, UK location.- The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:
- Conduct hazard classification and author Safety Data Sheets to meet global regulatory standards (GHS) and country-specific regulations.
- Compile extended Safety Data Sheets (eSDS) to meet requirements of REACh Regulation, Annex II.
- Manage the issue and distribution of revised Safety Data Sheets.
- Manage customer ad-hoc requests for Safety Data Sheets.
- Become an expert user of Hexcel’s SDS and H&S labelling software systems.
- Develop regulatory content for multi-language health and safety labels.
- Maintain critical Product Safety information in the Company’s ERP system and intranet site.
- Follow formal management of change procedures when updating product safety documentation to reflect regulatory changes and amendments to raw material hazard classification.
- Support and contribute to continuous improvement projects implementing enhancements
- Qualifications:
- A relevant degree (Chemistry, Environmental Science, Health and Safety or equivalent), with work experience in a product regulatory affairs/stewardship.
- Knowledge of GHS hazard classification, Safety Data Sheet compilation and H&S labelling/packaging requirements.
- General knowledge of REACh Regulation.
- Strong organisation skills and the ability to design and deploy detailed plans.
- Excellent IT skills and experience of establishing/manipulation of databases and document management systems.
- Able to work in a high energy, rewarding business with regulatory and stakeholder deadlines, while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
- Functions well independently and is self-motivated. Works with minimum supervision.
