**Role Overview**:
The Buyer is responsible for the purchase of goods, materials, and services to ensure the company's operational needs are met, considering price, quality, and delivery to ensure supply continuity. The role includes purchasing goods and managing UK suppliers for Business Unit (BU) Tooling, Service, and GSE. The role involves liaising with internal UK Business units and the HYDRO KG purchasing team.

**Accountabilities**:

- Building relationships with key suppliers
- Conducting supply market analysis
- Managing vendors and contracts
- Risk management
- Commodity management
- Achieving the best cost savings while maintaining a beneficial supply base for the company

**Key Tasks & Responsibilities**:

- Managing Supplier RFQ (Request for Quotation) process for HYDRO UK Business requirements and allocated UK Supply Chain.
- Issuing and tracking RFQs in collaboration with the relevant business unit to record supplier cost and lead times.
- Reviewing quotes for completeness and competitiveness (cost and lead time).
- Addressing supplier queries related to RFQs/orders/change controls in collaboration with the business unit.
- Processing demand into purchase requisitions and orders for timely material availability.
- Checking acknowledgments for deviations to the purchase order and escalating to the appropriate Business Unit Manager.
- Driving cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations.
- Being the first point of contact for external suppliers regarding RFQs/Orders/Change control queries.
- Issuing and resolving Supplier quality notifications (QN).
- Managing and maintaining supplier information on SAP.
- Managing allocated Suppliers' overall performance in terms of on-time delivery and quality score.
- Collaborating with allocated Suppliers on improvement/development projects.
- Monitoring and progressing Suppliers' Vendor Delivery Report (VDR) to ensure on-time delivery of materials.
- Communicating proactively between HYDRO Purchasing departments worldwide.
- Progressing and communicating the end-to-end process from requirement to delivery.
- Setting up new suppliers to meet HYDRO demands on delivery and competitiveness.
- Handling supplier invoice queries and coordinating with HYDRO Finance department.
- Updating Suppliers on submitted quotation status and providing feedback on unsuccessful submissions.
- Reporting KPI statistics and escalating issues to Procurement Manager on a weekly basis.
- Performing any other reasonable duties assigned by the Procurement Manager.

**Key Skills and Experience**:

- Holding or working towards Institute of Procurement and Supply Chain qualification (CIPS) level 5 or above or similar qualification.
- 3 - 5 years' experience within a procurement role.
- Technical purchasing knowledge.
- Experience in supplier qualification, auditing, and corrective action processes.
- Experience in the aerospace or engineering industry would be advantageous.
- Team-oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing targets.
- Global sourcing experience.
- Successful project management experience.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Valid passport.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Full UK driving license.
