An exciting position has arisen within the Strategic Procurement team for a Global Commodity Lead (GCL) in our Finished Component Category.

In this role, you will lead a team of buyers to develop and execute Global Strategies and forge effective relationships to drive long-term improvements in Cost, Quality and Delivery. You will creatively develop sustainable long-term supply chains which will drive competitive advantage to Rolls-Royce, our customers and suppliers.

You will create and deploy the integrated commodity / category strategies and the associated strategic sourcing and commercial activities. This covers ensuring adequate levels of contractual coverage and mitigation of commercial risk, optimising commercial advantage, providing security of supply and acceptable levels of liability. Where designated, you will lead the strategic relationships at a senior level creating value and competitive advantage. You will coach and mentor talent in your area to further develop strategic sourcing capability.

This area of our Strategic Procurement organization is responsible for sourcing of high-volume components for all our Civil Aerospace products. The category contains two of the major challenges that critical for the success of Civil Aerospace - supplier consolidation and cost savings.

**What you will be doing**

Your areas of responsibility will include:

- Effective top to top management of Supplier Relationships and strategic direction of partners and suppliers.
- Lead long term cost improvement in line with business plans, including leveraging cost reductions across category group strategic spend commodities / categories.
- Strategic Sourcing - planning, leading and negotiating sourcing and commercial activities to maximise the value proposition across all major commodities / categories.
- Strategy - develop, deploy and communicate relevant integrated commodity /category / supplier strategies, providing a clear vision and strategic framework for the designated supply chain(s).
- Where designated, select a supply chain capable of meeting quality and delivery requirements and ensure quality management and rectification.
- Where designated, lead the recruitment, line management and capability development of strategic sourcing team.
- Lead the team's compliance to the company’s policies, processes and procedures.
- Understand supplier obligations contained in our Global Supplier Code of Conduct and address any compliance concerns.

- A degree at BA level and/or CIPS qualifications - advantageous.
- Global outlook and exposure to different challenges, cultures and ways of working.
- Passion to drive change and make a difference combined with ability to solve complex problems.
