Patient Pathway Coordinator - Part time - 22.5 hours per week - Permanent
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic person with administration experience to join our team within Paediatrics/ Obstetrics & Gynaecology the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Gateshead.
The Patient Pathway Coordinator role will support the proactive management of patients on an admitted and non-admitted clinical pathway. The post holder will support the collection and accurate recording of information following a patient referral which will enable the Trust to accurately identify the time from referral to treatment. The role will lead on the tracking of pathways of patients. By working closely with a wide range of clinical and managerial staff, and providing high standard of administrative support, the post holder will ensure patients receive treatment as soon as possible and ensure national targets are met.
The post-holder will be responsible for providing day-to-day administrative services, performance delivery and management of waiting lists for both Paediatrics and Gynaecology. Under the direct supervision of the Operational Manager, acting as a point of reference for senior colleagues. this post is responsible for providing a comprehensive administrative service across the Paediatric and Gynaecology Department. In accordance with relevant policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines. The post holder will contribute to Trust KPIs including 18-week referral to treatment, RTT Recovery Plans.
Based in the North East of England we provide a range of hospital and community health services from our leading facilities, including the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Blaydon urgent care centre and Bensham Hospital, all within Gateshead.

To ensure all long waiting RTT pathways are managed and reported to Operational Team to ensure continuity of Service.
Dealing with the waiting lists of the Consultant / clinical team, including monitoring, maintaining and validating waiting lists for clinic appointments, and day cases for tests/procedures, ensuring staff have clear instructions around deadlines and communication of potential breaches.
Liaison with Consultant, Specialist Doctor, General Practitioner and other Health Professionals regarding outpatient clinic requirements and other day to day operational escalations. Escalating to Admin Manager and Assistant Service Line Manager as appropriate.
Responsible for completing own work in a timely manner consistent with departmental practice or protocol.
To work in a manner consistent with Trust and local policies and procedures, protocols etc.
Good working relationship with Admin Manager - ability to escalate concerns and seek guidance when needed.
Identify best practice and developing working practice in the unit/team to deliver and efficient and effective administration service within area of remit.
Maintain and store appropriate records.
