The ENT Directorate are looking for a Booking Clerk within the ENT department.

This role will involve the booking of ENT outpatient appointments and managing referrals via ERS, answering telephone calls and monitoring waiting lists in line with Trust policy, booking patients in chronological order.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in this varied role within a friendly team. You will need excellent communication skills and be dedicated to providing an efficient and effective service. You will work closely with members of the ENT team to ensure patients are seen in a timely manner. You will work a varied shift pattern between 8am-6pm at Maidstone Hospital.

You will be IT literate, able to meet deadlines and have an attention to detail. Knowledge of All scripts would be highly desirable but is not essential, as training will be provided. You must be methodical and organised in your approach and thrive on the opportunity to make a genuine difference.

Act as a contact point, liaising with patients, as well as clinical colleagues to ensure that the organisation and efficiency of all patient appointments are appropriately planned and managed.

Must manage own workload dealing with and resolving issues as and when they occur without direct supervision on a daily basis, maintaining confidentiality at all times, ensuring target dates are maintained.

To ensure that any patient cancelled by the Trust is re-booked within appropriate timescales. Where necessary changing future scheduled clinics to provide capacity and highlight any capacity issues at the earliest opportunity.

To be responsible for the addition, removal and modification of patients to and from the waiting list.

Adhere to the office protocols including telephone protocol and ERS protocol.

Support new staff and help train them as required on new systems.

Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust is a large acute hospital Trust in the county of Kent.
