This post is based in the de Swiet Obstetric Medicine centre at Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital. It is aimed at physicians who wish to gain more experience the field of obstetric medicine and would enable to postholder to complete the RCP Credential in Obstetric Medicine if they wished. This post provides a unique opportunity to work exclusively in the field of Obstetric Medicine, at a network Maternal Medicine Centre, managing medical problems in pregnancy in the outpatient and inpatient setting, including the most complex women from across the region. The post-holder will work in general obstetric medicine clinics, diabetes antenatal clinic and specialist clinics (for example obstetric neurology, obstetric nephrology and obstetric haematology). They will also see inpatient referrals and be responsible for the on-going care of women admitted with medical problems in pregnancy, under the supervision of the Obstetric Medicine team.

This post is suitable for trainees of ST4 level or above. The requirement for this job is membership of the Royal College of Physicians, also known as MRCP(UK), or equivalent, by date of shortlisting panel. Please note that whilst MRCPI in General Medicine is recognised as an equivalent qualification to this, the MRCPI in Obstetrics and Gynaecology is not

The post-holder will be a valued member of the Obstetric Medicine team, which consists of Consultant Obstetric Physicians (Dr Charlotte Frise and Dr Sheba Jarvis) and Consultant Obstetricians (Miss Mandish Dhanjal, Miss Muna Noori, Miss Bryony Jones, Miss Kerry Munro, Miss Jasmine Tay, Miss Naomi Primrose and Mr Tomas Prior), alongside colleagues from other medical specialities who work alongside them in the specialist clinics, two obstetric trainees doing subspecialty training in Maternal and Fetal Medicine and two obstetric trainees doing an advanced training skills module (ATSM) in Obstetric Medicine.

**The post-holder will be involved in the provision of**:

- Outpatient review of women in obstetric medicine and speciality clinics
- Day-to-day obstetric medicine input for antenatal and postnatal inpatients
- Coordination of the care of the most complex women with obstetric medicine problems in a weekly multidisciplinary team meeting
- Involvement in obstetric medicine audit activity and quality improvement projects

The post-holder will work in two obstetric medicine clinics and two diabetes antenatal clinics (Professor Anne Dornhorst) per week. In addition there are specialised obstetric renal clinics (Professor Liz Lightstone and Dr Phil Webster) once per month, obstetric neurology clinics (Dr Pooja Dassan) alternate weeks and obstetric haematology clinics (Dr Carolyn Millar, Dr Mamta Sohal) weekly. The post holder will also see inpatient referrals and be responsible for the on-going care of women admitted with medical problems in pregnancy, under the supervision of the Obstetric Medicine team (as above).

An approximate timetable is included in the full JD attached.

There is a weekly meeting on a Friday morning which consists of a network MDT, case presentation and discussion of complex patients. There are also Trust meetings including Medical Grand Round that the post-holder is welcome to attend.
