**About the role: Transition and Retention Adviser**

Activate Learning are looking for a Transition and Retention Adviser to join our Student Support team at our Reading campus**.**

The post holder** **will predominantly support our Looked after Children (Children we Care for), Young Carers, Care leavers and learners who require transition support and liaise with internal and external services to ensure they are supported throughout their learner journey to achieve positive destinations and stay on programme.

You will work alongside a strong team of likeminded individuals in the wider Student Support team, including the College Counsellor and Nurse, who all share a passion for seeing these barriers overcome and young people progress into employment or higher education.

This is a permanent, full-time role based at our Reading College Campus, supporting all our colleges in Berkshire. Some travel will be required to other Berkshire campuses, and rarely to other campuses within the group depending on capacity.

**What do you need to be a successful Transition and Retention Adviser at Activate Learning?**

You will have experience of working with young people or vulnerable adults within a school/youth work/college or relevant environment, along with an understanding of the issues that present as barriers to participation in education.

You will be an excellent communicator, with a creative approach to achieving engagement and participation, and be able to collaborate across a large organisation to improve outcomes for our learners.
