**JOB TITLE: **Supplier Quality Technician

**REPORTING TO: **Supplier Development Engineer

**Location: **PONTYPOOL

**The Quality Department are currently seeking to recruit a Supplier Quality Technician to operate within a design-led automotive engineering company.**

Our client are looking for an experienced Supplier Quality Technician who has experience within an Engineering/Automotive background.

The role is to provide continuous improvement with quality for the supplier produced components and ensuring all parts and products from external supply chains meet the quality standards and systems required.

**MAIN PURPOSE: **(What is the function of the position?)
- You will be part of the wider quality team driving the continuous improvement with respect to the quality of supplier produced components.
- Responsible for all incoming parts as required from the external supply chain to ensure they meet the quality standards and systems required.
- Insuring fully conforming, process capable and efficient supplied products without detriment to overall delivery or final product performance.
- You must be able to travel to other production locations and or suppliers based within the UK or Overseas upon request and as required in support of the role, as such a clean driving licence and passport are essential.

- The role does not have any direct reports
- This is a role where you can directly influence a culture toward quality assurance and continuous improvement

**Key reports and reporting lines**
- Reporting directly to the Supplier Development Engineer

**KEY ACTIVITIES: **(What gets done)
- Deputise for the Supplier Development Engineer as required
- To produce visual quality alerts within the supply chain to support the production team to improve quality in the build process, including SCAR’s
- To gather quality data to inform and self-drive continuous improvement activities.
- To drive a quality assurance culture, building quality into the supply chain.
- Investigate any quality issues to identify root cause and raise appropriate corrective action paperwork and ensure issues are addressed and resolved
- To reduce waste and find more efficient ways of working. To work in partnership with the production team to produce Right First-Time product
- Support Suppliers as required
- Support regular quality meetings with representatives from appropriate departments to establish MRB decisions for both internal and external reject components
- Undertake continuous training and development
- To always act and behave in a way compliant with all company guidelines and policies, especially those relating to Environmental, Health and Safety, ethics, values, and codes of conduct
- To contribute towards achieving and maintaining high health and safety standards and to carry out all duties and specific responsibilities in compliance with Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as directed by your manager.

**Key qualifications, skills and experience required**
- Professional accreditation with an industry related body would be advantageous.
- HNC/ BTEC Engineering is advantageous
- Analytical and numeracy skills, strong problem-solving skills with very high attention to detail
- Initiative and results/target focused.
- A good understanding of, Quality conformance requirements and of Continuous Improvement
- Good understanding of customer expectations and deliverables with an awareness of the impact of failure/cost of poor quality.
- An understanding of manufacturing processes
- Have an appreciation of wider business demands.
- Excellent PC skills
- Ability to work well with others in a team environment, providing input and feedback in a helpful manner
- A good understanding of, Quality conformance requirements and of Continuous Improvement
- Be numerate and have good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and ability to work under pressure and prioritize own workload as required
- Uphold an upbeat “can do” attitude with outgoing personality to motivate and lead teams
- Proactive and positive approach, with a desire to succeed both personally and for the business
