Food Safety & Quality Specialist

Location: Pont-Y-Felin Ave, New Inn, Griffithstown, Pontypool NP4

**Responsibilities**:
Manage and improve Quality Management Systems including documentation, control, and adherence to regulatory, customer, and internal requirements.

Oversee daily food safety and quality activities by reviewing quality records and approving product releases.

Ensure all aspects of HACCP plan development, documentation, and control are in place.

Provide guidance and leadership to the plant team in product evaluation and proper documentation.

Understand the manufacturing process flow, audit key programs supporting sanitation, maintenance, and inspection.

Actively participate in and lead continuous improvement quality initiatives, analyzing and reporting KPIs.

Understand food safety and quality standards, know how to respond to non-compliance issues.

Identify and correct non-compliance issues effectively.

Support Sensory, Quality Systems, SPC & HACCP through training and coaching.

Conduct root cause analysis and follow-up on corrective actions related to safety, quality, and productivity.

Isolate, tag, and electronically place defective materials on HOLD.

Maintain food safety and quality work instructions, verifying online quality processes.

Participate actively in audit preparation and follow-up.

Manage finished goods documentation, label updates, and quality certificates.

Support and lead HACCP team initiatives.

Ensure compliance with EU labeling requirements and timely development and approval of finished product labels.

Manage food microbiology risks in the production environment.

Lead customer complaint resolution processes and coordinate CAPA investigations.

Manage supplier approval process, risk assessments, and audits.

Maintain Food Safety Management System documentation.

Requirements: Demonstrate passion for the job, role, and company.

Available to travel to customer locations when necessary.

Effective verbal and written communication (English)

Master's Degree in a Science-related discipline and around of 3-4 years’ experience in quality or food safety in food manufacturing.

Strong reasoning ability for resolving personnel issues and scheduling conflicts.

Ability to work in a team with limited supervision.

Time management skills and ability to prioritize.

Proficient in summarizing information to create reports.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft tools.
