**Looking for a buying role with a manufacturing business that values sustainability?**
Our client, is an award-winning manufacturer who is passionate about sustainability. They are looking for an experienced buyer to join their busy team and take ownership of global supplier relationships. Based in the factory in Pontypool South Wales. You will work with R&D and supply chain colleagues to deliver high-quality materials at the best price and on time.
**Key Duties**
- Working with the existing suppliers to manage their performance and minimise supplier costs
- Manage stock replenishment for designated suppliers against the production plan
- Source new suppliers, components and accessories.
- Supplier onboarding and due diligence checks.
- Working closely with R&D on product development with designated suppliers
- Handling production issue and changes in agreed ship date.
- Annual Supplier performance reviews with score cards.
- Managing issues with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
- Maintaining the supplier’s sustainability report.
- Handling projects and ad hoc tasks assigned by the manager.
Essential Skills:
- Good English communication skills both written and verbal. (Chinese language skills are desirable)
- Experience in buying role ideally in manufacturing environment with an international supply base.
- Proven track record cost reduction
- Proactive and highly organised with an attention to detail.
- Purchasing / buying skills, including stock replenishment, negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt.
- Strong Microsoft office skills (Word, Ppt, Excel etc.)
- Experience in using ERP system
Location: Hybrid with minimum three days in the factory facility in Pontypool in South Wales.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: £30,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
