**Salary** £31,766 (based on NJC pay scale points 35 - 39)

**MAIN PURPOSE OF POST**
The Senior Fundraising Officer - Individual and Legacy Giving is responsible for soliciting unrestricted income from the following income sources: individual regular givers, one off gifts, legacy and in-memory income. The purpose of the post is to keep up to date with new fundraising opportunities, and continually develop and implement strategies to increase our unrestricted donations to support with creating a more sustainable organisation.

The post holder will develop and maintain both internal and external contacts and will need a thorough understanding of Women’s Aid’s work.

**DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Line management**
- Manage the Fundraising Assistant(s) including responsibility for setting their workplans and managing workloads, answering queries and ensuring work is completed effectively. The fundraising assistants are responsible for processing one-off and regular gifts, as well as thanking donors, therefore their work feeds directly into that of the Senior Fundraising Officer - Individual and Legacy Giving.
- Hold appraisals and regular supervisions/one-to-ones with them, to nurture their growth and ensure their well-being in the workplace.

**Individual and Regular Giving**
- Lead on developing and implementing a Women’s Aid strategy for individual giving including stewardship programme to ensure long-term supporter relationships and nurturing new donors into long-term supporters.
- Form and implement a programme for donor recruitment, retention and development, adhering to service standards and providing optimum supporter care.
- Lead on the content and production of all Women’s Aid fundraising appeals, including lead generation campaigns and cash gift appeals.
- Develop and implement a regular giving strategy to maximise unrestricted income to create a sustainable organisation.
- Create a strategic donor recruitment programme, to include robust supporter journeys following the lead generation campaigns to ensure supporters remain engaged and lower attrition rates.
- Develop and implement a lapsed donor reactivation programme to re-engage our regular donors.
- Design and implement a Donor uplift programme for regular givers, to increase unrestricted donations from individual givers.
- Develop and produce of a range of fundraising materials in support of donor recruitment, retention and development.
- Manage all individual giving platforms, and ensure that Women’s Aid has a presence on all relevant or new platforms.

**Legacy Fundraising**
- Research, design and implement a legacy programme to recruit new gifts, including establishing a free wills offering.
- Manage the portfolio of existing legacy and in-memory donations, including liaising with solicitors and family members when needed.
- Oversee all legacy and In Memory giving platforms, including Smee & Ford and MuchLoved.

**Wider fundraising responsibilities**
- Work with the Senior Fundraising Officer - Community Fundraising to develop and launch Women’s Aid merchandise.
- Keep up to date with trends and good practice and identify new fundraising opportunities
- Work across the organisation to facilitate good stakeholder journeys and maximise opportunities for fundraising asks, including utilising Impact Stack, our digital campaigning platform.
- Take responsibility for ensuring that all records are maintained on the Women’s Aid CRM.
- Input into the planning of wider fundraising strategies.
- Manage budget recommendations around individual giving, regular giving and legacy giving

**Information Management, monitoring and evaluation**
- Establish appropriate means of evaluation for all stewardship programmes.
- Use the fundraising database to analyse project success rates to support the fundraising team strategy and feed into the fundraising team’s KPIs.
- Work with the Communications team to establish appropriate evaluation and analysis of social media analytics.
- Cross-departmental work to ensure accurate and in-depth knowledge of projects and services to ensure compelling and appropriate asks to supporters.
- Ensure that full records of all contacts are maintained on the database.

**Financial**
- Manage the budget for individual giving, making recommendations to the Fundraising Manager and Head of Fundraising and reforecasting on a quarterly basis.
- Manage all stewardship mailing budgets including costs for: design, printing etc.
- Ensure that all donations are quickly and correctly processed and acknowledged and that reports are available in the appropriate format.
- Contribute to the teams KPI’s and update all appropriate reports/documentation
