Inspired Schools Ltd is delighted to be able to offer an exciting coaching position with a growing and developing company. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a passion for coaching; the individual will be committed to developing their coaching knowledge and skills.

Since the business started in 2013, we have grown significantly during the last 9 years, particularly over the past 12 months, despite the challenges faced with Covid-19.

Our vision is to raise physical activity levels of children in Primary Schools, reducing childhood obesity in the process. We do this through a range of services and products we offer our schools. We help schools to achieve this is through our sports coaching team, who deliver over 300 hours into Primary Schools across Somerset, directly impacting the children they teach. In 2017 we also launched our Inspired Playgrounds project, which has been a resounding success, with us now partnering over 90 schools across England and Wales.

The future for Inspired Schools is very exciting and our aim is to continue to expand both areas of the business, as well as adding new projects that are ready to go in the next 12 months.

The successful coach will:
Be delivering a high standard of PE lessons, predominantly in Primary Schools, with a view to taking on extra responsibility as you progress within the company. At Inspired Somerset, we pride ourselves on being innovative and you will be delivered in different capacities to help the company move forward and expand.

**Responsibilities and Duties**

The position of Sports Coach will involve the following duties and responsibilities:

- To effectively plan, deliver and evaluate a range of high quality multiskill and sport-specific sessions
- To organise, lead, and/or assist on sports holiday camps
- To undertake training and professional development where necessary in relation to role within the organisation
- To undertake other duties, commensurate to the post, as necessary when required
- Are able to engage well and build up a good rapport with young people, school staff members and parents
- Possess excellent communication skills
- Are intrinsically motivated to work hard and perform their duties to the best of their abilities
- Prioritise the welfare and safety of the young people they are responsible for
- Are enthusiastic and innovative
- Are punctual and organised
- Are able to work effectively on own initiative, and as part of a team

**Qualifications and Skills**
- NGB Level 2 coaching qualification in at least one sport
- Full driving licence, access to own transport and willing to travel
- Ability to teach PE to Key Stages 1 & 2
- Working knowledge of the primary school national curriculum for teaching PE
- Ability to use appropriate teaching styles
- High level of coaching ability and commitment to developing their knowledge and skill
- Extensive previous experience working in schools, leading sessions, working with children from all backgrounds, and maintaining control of large groups without direct support/supervision
- To ensure students are taught according to their individual needs and abilities
- To employ teaching strategies that engender enthusiasm and raise the aspirations of all students
- Has energy and initiative
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- A high level of personal organization.
- A degree in sport coaching or similar qualification
- Range of NGB Level 1 or higher qualifications in a variety of sports
- Current First Aid qualification (must be completed prior to commencement of post).
- Current Safeguarding and Protecting Children qualification (must be completed prior to commencement of post)
